Two thumbs up all the way! A breeze to animate with. Here's a little three second animation that I quickly put together. For those that need it, here's a link to the Windows Media version of the clip: www.rickwade.com/cg/Test_1.wmv (214KB)

VERY COOL! I keep meaning to check that out. My kids would love some custom anime shows! :) Hope you get a chance to put something together yourself ... would love to see it! -Tim

elgyfu,

I'm using the Anime Doll Kit. Picked it up from the Marketplace yesterday. Here's a link.

Stay Focused.

That animation was wonderful! The character had so much personality, even in such a short clip. Great work, DarkSkills. The Anime Doll Kit is clearly going to be a huge success, and I for one am extremely happy for MayaX. Kimberly

Thank you DarkSills, found it, brought it and now happily playing with it - this is brilliant! Best purchase I have made for a long while!

Hold flap! I'm in love with that thing... now I need $22.00!

Great animation, the flowing clothes are so well done! Here's a quick image of her, Z-tooned and rendered as a 1-frame movie in Cartoon With Line mode with some color correction in Photoshop. Remember that she wears all the free MayaDoll clothing too, and the Japanese artists are very good about supporting each other's creations. Sugoi! ;) SnowS

Yehaaaaaw. My sweet, long suffering, understanding wife just OK'd my purchase! Now to find that credit card!

Yes, this is a BRILLIANT new package from StudioMaya and also a very clever marketing move! I've been collecting all the MayaDoll downloads, but never using them for anything. This new character kit gives me really good reasons to use the MayaDoll character and accept the fact that she wears her own unique clothes. This gives MayaDoll a unique place in the Poser community and not just another Vicky-Koshini wanna-be. I can see coming Anime Doll scene sets- like DAZ cyclorama's, but made for Anime-Manga lighting and Cel-Shade looks. Just the start of a lot of new ways of using Poser, I think.

Yes, keep our fingers crossed!

Quick, someone do a seam guide - I have loads of ideas for textures but am crap at spliiting UVs. Soon as I get a template you guys get the texs for free!

Crescent posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 3:16 PM

One caution on some of the MayaDoll freebies - some of the items are for personal renders only, no commercial rendering. If you are looking to possibly sell your artwork, please make sure you're not using non-commercial clothing. MayaX's stuff is okay for commercial renders, but again, some of the freebies on other sites are not. These guys are so generous, please respect their wishes on usage. Cheers! (And I think my jaw broke as it hit the floor when I saw the first pics of the AnimeDoll! It took a few hours for me to buy it because I couldn't do anything else but stare at the pictures in awe.)

Berserga posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 3:55 PM

That's why I am so happy to see more Japanese Creators stuff in the MP rather than freestuff. Then it's under rosity's lisense so I don't have to worry about it. I usually won't download any freestuff that has commercial limitations, Unless I have a specific need for a personal project, or it's just something really cool.

Quick, someone do a seam guide<< Haha, guess that's my cue. I'm more than happy to do it when people will use them to create free textures though. ;) Thanks. SnowS

Ahh... that breast MT is much needed.

kobaltkween posted Fri, 17 October 2003 at 3:14 PM

can you post an actual url? when i click on store, i get back here and i never see a support section anywhere. i do see the posting on the homepage of the addition.

SnowSultan posted Fri, 17 October 2003 at 3:27 PM

I have finished the seam guides, and will upload them today. I'll also try to include some tips on using the eyes he includes, as they are actually quite unique and useful. BTW, check the MayaDoll support forum on his site, there's a link to a very unusual free pirate outfit in there too. :) SnowS
