How hard is it to convert this hair to Mike/Vicky 1&2 or Dork & Posette? Can I convert it without using magnets? Or is there already a fit pose included? This is important stuff to know since I don't use and don't plan to use M3 or V3. :) Kate (who hates the inj stuff cuz it sucks all the fun out of Poser)
mysticwinter posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 9:02 PM
I had no problem putting it on Vicky 1&2, just load it and parent it to the head .. I didn't have to play with it at all. I love it April! you did a great job with this one!
AprilYSH posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 9:31 PM
hey Kate, for non m3 and v3 owners as mysticwinter said you can parent it to mike1/2 and vicki1/2 but first i will look into it for fit morphs about the hairline to make sure it is "tight" enough - the hairline is a specific feature of this item and if that doesn't work for your figure then it's a waste for you! i don't recommend buying anything that would be a waste ;) despite my own packrat habits! hahaha

Great looking hair April! Awesome job!
hauksdottir posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 11:05 PM
What Kate said. :) I'd like to know if it works on M2 and V2... especially M2. The hairline is a little far forward for my tastes, but it looks natural, which is a big plus. Having the longer hair for men is essential for period work (they used to be SUCH peacocks!). Carolly
AprilYSH posted Thu, 16 October 2003 at 11:41 PM
lol it did occur to me belatedly to add hairlineBack and foreheadPoufDown morphs ;) i will work on this (and v2/m2 versions) on the weekend and should have a free addon zip by monday. so if you have other thoughts while i'm working just post them here or email me. i'll post any news here but email me if you want a notification by email. i'll ask daz what they do about update notifications and downloads as well but i can definitely have it on my website in the interim. thank you all very much for your input! :)

image shows mysticwinter's teal texture! as well as natural variations she's got fantasy colours in her free zip above. thanks very much for your support mysticwinter!!! :D
and thanks for the m2 preview dialyn! :D as per request i've reconformed them for m2 and v1 so you don't have to do the reposition then parent thing.
i've also added a hairLineUp and a poufDown morph for the forehead area... no preview of those cos I can't find the promo character I used for m3 above for a comparison render :( i hope i haven't lost him, i quite liked him.

Be sure you note on the link above, that there is a little problem with it if you click on it. The one in this message should work better. Love the hair....one can never have too many styles. :)ronstuff posted Sat, 18 October 2003 at 3:56 PM
It really looks great - has it been tested in Poser 5? I've pretty much stopped rendering in P4 in favor of all the advances in P5, but P5 DOES have a problem with some hair types, so I just want to be sure before making the purchase. Thanks
dialyn posted Sat, 18 October 2003 at 4:28 PM
My render was done in Poser 5. No postwork.
ronstuff posted Sat, 18 October 2003 at 4:49 PM
Thanks dialyn, that is really good news!
AprilYSH posted Sat, 18 October 2003 at 9:56 PM
mysticwinter may be moving her stuff around soon so I got permission to keep the free tex pack for her: "AmanteTex By mysticwinter" Download m2 and v2 conform and fit: "Amante for M2 & V2" The hairlineUp and poufDown morphs are in the m2 and v2 versions. I put in the readme to please use morphmanager to just copy these into your m3 and v3 cr2s so I don't have to upload those as well :) =============================== ronstuff, I tried it only briefly in poser 5 before release, I must admit I didn't test it in poser 5. Thanks for your trust dialyn! lol (I put on the product description that it is poser 4 hair cos I meant that you don't need poser 5 strand hair to use it.) Anyhow, I tested it just now and it rendered in poser 5 with: poser 4 renderer, firefly draft and production, with and without backface cull, and with and without ray trace, all with cast shadows (hair looks best with at least one light with shadows!!!) All of the renders looked fine - none of that blackened facets problem I think you meant to look for. What settings do you recreate that problem consistently with models that have the problem? If I haven't covered it above let me know and I'll test that setting, just in case!!! :D

Thanks April, I can get most hair to work fine in P5 with firefly, but the only problem I have not been able to fix yet is when the geometry itself causes a conflict (such as in some Neftis hair). For some reason Firefly locks up when complex overlapping and intertwining geometry is rendered. So if your hair renders at all, I'm sure it is fine with P5 - the rest is just a matter of adjusting the shaders. Thanks again for the help. Nice work on the hair :-)

Thanks you guys. This was way above and beyond the call. I've bought the hair and look forward to using it on all my versions of Mike and Vicky. :) This reminds me why you guys are among my favorite merchants. Exceptional service. Kate

Fabulous hair, just like your Nissa Hair! Thank you for making it fit to M2 and V2 as well and thank you, mysticwinter, for those wonderful textures!
