Does anyone have this? and could someone please explain to me a little more exactly what it does? I am considering buying it, but I don't think I am getting a clear enough picture of what exactly it does. thanks Essie

If you have a Vicki 2 texture that you want to use on Vicki 3, you use UTC to convert the maps for use on Vicki 3. You load the head map, tell the program it's a V2 head map and that you want to use it as a V3 head map. The program then converts it. You do the same for the body, trans maps, etc. (You'll see the list of maps you can convert in the program.) You can also go from V3 to V2. If you have the pluggin modules, you can easily convert additional textures. The Mike/Steph pluggin will add those characters to the "pot" of texture conversions such as Mike 1 -> V2, Steph -> V3, etc. If you have the M3 pluggin, you can convert between V2, V3, and M3. If you have both pluggins, you can do conversions between M1/2, Steph, V2, V3, and M3. Notes 1) You must own the basic UTC program. The pluggins will not work without it. (I.e. if you have just the M1/2 and M3 pluggins, but not UTC itself, you can't do any conversions.) 2) If your texture is very intricate - lots of tattoos, etc., then it may not convert flawlessly and you may need to do touch-ups. It's a great program, but due to the way UV Mapping works, it's impossible to achieve perfect conversion between models. I'm really happy with the program personally. Hope this helps, Cres

The UTC also comes with great support from Dark Whisper and Daz. I've saved tons on money on textures by using it to convert my favorites. There are a few minor problems, but they're very minor. It's a great deal. But be sure you get the plugins for the conversions you want. The M2 and M3 modules are both needed to convert M2 to M3 and back.

Don't forget that textures converted to Victoria 2 and Michael 2 can also be used on the Poser 5 human figures (Don, Judy, Will, and Penny), which essentially have the same mapping, aside from the eyes. For entirely selfish reasons, I hope he creates a Posette/P4 Male plugin next.

MayaDoll and Koshini are on my wishlist. :) Actually, to get some of the HappyWorldLand P4 textures converted over would be nice.

Cindy, Natalia and Dina versions would be great, too. All these models suffer for the lack of good textures.

The UTC is a wonderful tool. There are some very nice characters coming out for V3. The only problem is that we still have a ton of clothes for V2. So we use V3 whenever we can, but when we just have to use a piece of V2 clothing in a picture, we use UTC to convert the V3 character skin to V2. It has made our lives a lot simpler. Lynn

Now, if someone were to create a Universal Clothing Convertor, that clever individual would be making money hand over fist. Especially if the process were as automated as the UTC.

I'd be first in line to buy that one.
