Well, unfortunately childish behavior seems to be running rampant lately. After pointing out a bit of plaigerism in a certain person's work, said person and said person's 'goonies' have been messing with my gallery.. Giving random images 1's etc... I know it shouldn't matter, but they are continuing to do so, even on some of my older wip images... sigh More annoying that a grown man would behave like this than anything. Anyhow, I was just wondering whether or not it is possible to ban or have someone banned from my gallery before any additional harm is done.

If it's the Bryce gallery, Agent Smith has the last word there, I think.....

I'm pretty sure you can't stop someone from commenting or rating your images, short of disabling those features on ALL your images so no one can comment or rate. Maybe AS will be of help. Doug

Ok, the rankings on my immages have gone from excellent to almost there (in some cases...) now someone named natacha is commenting on nearly every image with messages such as "WOW I LOVE THIS" and rankings of 1/10... This is starting to piss me off... Why the hell are people so childish?

Sounds to me like it's crime-fighting time. I'm sure the people at the top will take care of all this, that's just ridiculous. Ornlu, have you considered turning the ratings off? I base my picture's "success" mostly on what my little brother thinks, who is a better artist in more areas than just about anyone on the planet. But it is really cool too see other people who I don't even know commenting, or better yet, critiquing my pixels...!

I have, unfortunately I have pretty low confidence in my work, it's always nice to see a little 'excellent' as a boost. Maybe I'll turn the ranking off from here on out though.

This is a terrible time of day, I just checked a few minutes ago and the only admin listed was ClintH who has been logged into renderosity for like a millenia of minutes.

Sounds like the owners of Renderosity need to make some phonecalls and get this guy's host site banned, or report these threats to the police. Use of stolen credit card numbers is a serious felony. Same goes with making threats like these. I'd think about getting ready to involve the authorities, as well as Renderosity. Last time someone made threats at me like this, I made one email to my ISP and the guy disappeared.

This is totally uncivilized and it is the mods and admin that you must tell about this, they're breaking the TOS and that ain't allowed. Catlin

not to intrude here, but the writing style does not match the writings I've read of PJF, I wouldn't bother looking there....(lol actually, I wouldn't blame anyone but the man with the name listed..I have seen that name before, tho not in this context.) PJF Has called names in some posts, but the grammar has always been very calm and well written, these messages Ornlu has posted are quite the opposite...not from the same mind.... I had seen this car before, but since I couldn't remember where I just posted that It was not made in bryce unlike the image description said %100 bryce by him. Prior to that, a few posts down in the Hot 20 topic I just was curious as to how the image with someone elses car rendered on a mirrored plane with two basic trees and a default sky got into the top 20. At that point I didn't even remember who had done it, simply a passing remark in a longer reply... I had no idea it would get this blown out of the water. oh boy...I can't believe how childish people are. First off Ornlu, your art rocks. Don't let people get you down. It's obvious hes jealous that his work isnt up to par (in my opinion) and yours is top notch (everyone's opinion) The hacking threat should be grounds to get banned. There isnt any room here for people like that.

Crap like that doesnt belong anywhere. They should terminate his accounts and galleries. And i totally agree with the rest of the people here. When it comes to threats and criminal acts, the law should be involved. Im pretty sure you could sue his ass, its not like you dont have proof... Dont let some sick f..k get to you Ornlu. This is terrible!!! Ornlu, Your art is wonderful! I, for one look forward to each new visual experiment you post. It is always a treat to see how you push Bryce past the known limits. Your art is indeed very special and unique. Don't let someone's evil pranks spoil your joy of exploration. You have every reason to be completely confident of your Art. I only wish I had thought of your ideas first! ; ) These peoples comments should be removed from ALL images. There is no telling how long they have been doing this sort of thing.

Aye, well Ornlu, aside from whatever the Management does about this, the truth is : That guy's work sucked anyways. It wasn't even "work", by my definition. There are Bryce artists who RULE that never really stop into the forums very often, Hyperborea and WhiskeySierra are examples of cool cats, even if I don't talk to them often. The person in question, or the person who has already been put to the question and judged (in my book), has never posted anything other than worthless compositions, although I am loathe to devote more than one syllable to their .jpgs. SO, for what it's worth, I never clicked on their stuff anyways, and will continue to boycott whatever works they might RE-produce. Let me know if you see that person/s logging in as a new user. I will continue to slander/boycott their crap, in my book there are bridges built and bridges burned. But, like I was saying, just turn ratings off. I'll make sure and type out "EXCELLENT" every time you post, if it helps!

The same thing happened a while back. Somebody had work in the top 20, voted for by her/his own clones. When somebody remarked about it, this person wrote some nasty lines at her/his site. The Community supported the person who rightfully had made the remark and the whole matter was forgotten. Didn't see this person again. Maybe this is a reincarnation.

Damn, those guys are seriously mentally ill. That's the kind of people I would give some serious manual plastic surgery if they where standing in front of me. And I don't get agressive against people easily, only VERY few people manage to get me angry like that, but this just really pisses me off. Those guys NEED to be banned AND NO 2ND CHANCES!!! sorry to react as strongly as this but I think this is way beyond simple trolling and I'm extremely pissed and already have trouble watching my words. I'll try to keep myself from sending this unicorn guy a nasty flame, but please, anyone with the possibility to do so, ban those guys and make sure ornlu's honor is restored by deleting bad ratings and such.

His ISP should be contacted, and the transcripts of his threats sent to both them AND local law enforcement in his community. I will also make a similar statement to other legitimate Bryce artists here; you give me, a new Brycer, having just got the software last week and awaiting my recommended RWB4 book, the inspiration to one day hopefully be a great Bryce artist. Or at least an acceptable one :) But while achieving that self-imposed goal, I want to feel safe here from the likes of BlackUnicorn; I want to feel assured that Renderosity will not only protect ME from this type of INSANITY, but will protect other members here as well. If I cant receive that simple request, then sadly, I wont be a contributing artist here, and that would certainly create a most grim situation for me personally, to say the least. I used to post a lot to the Terragen gallery, but removed it for personal reasons. But I want to let yesterday move further into the past, and move ahead to tomorrow within this gallery to learn from the creative minds herein. Ive missed posting to Renderosity, and want to change that. I want to learn all I can about Bryce from the great people here in this forum, and within the gallery. It all depends on Renderosity management, and how they respond to the insults against Ornlu, and to the entire web site itself. Yes, there are always potholes in the road, I'm willing to risk a damaged rim or two, but what happened to Ornlu is simply not acceptable. AgentSmith, I know youre sickened by this as well, and I would hope that you direct the powers that be to this very thread. I would hope that they will feel compelled to correct this situation, with the ONLY possible solution, and to act swiftly upon it. BTW: the mailman just delivered my book! I IMed AgentSmith about this last night when I first read about it and he's well on the job of putting this right. He has to let the messages stay in the gallery until the admin can have a look and get the details of all the IM's that have been sent to Ornlu. When that is done the offending remarks will be removed and the admin will look into removing this villain from the community. The only problem with removing someone like this and all their clones is that they will probably just pop up somewhere else. But don't you let this bug you Ornlu, you know you have friends here who will stand by you and stand up for you should needs be. Catlin

But, in the future, if anyone has problems with their gallery, or whatever really, its usually best just to get ahold of me via I.M. Not that I'm trying to keep any of this secret, lol, it's just a factor of damage control.
