a way is of course to use the scatter function but i dont want the pieces to look like "mini pumpkins", I want it more like pieces or fragments... husse

No way in Vue. Vue is a peaceful program, no explosions! :-)) The only way is to use stones with the same texture and a sort of exchange in an animation. Pumpkin till time one - make it "jump" to somewhere else in one frame - then the "pieces" aka stones jump into the camera light and are animated very quickly to fly away! I don't see another way. Again, no particle system in Vue. But hope dies last!

I had to do this to a rock when i did a one and a half minute animation for a university a couple years agao now dont know if you can do it with the pupkin, unless you make one and make it into about 20 seperate pieces and then import it to vue as a 3ds Now comes the part you need to do,you have to select each piece then assign a key movement, ie select the piece add say 1 sec the drag that piece way of somewere, then do all that for each piece adding key frames for each piece you want to fly apart. it will take a long time to set up but it does work and looks ok from an explosion point of view. i would let you all see the anims but they are so big is size i cant send then to web as i dotn have a place for them anyway thats the way i did that so hope it helps regards seeklight

A similar solution to seeklight's without needing to use an external application to make the object would be to use Vue's boolean operations. Not a particularly elegant solution since each piece of the pumpkin would need to be a whole pumpkin with a boolean diff that hides the rest of the pumpkin. Once you have sufficient pieces assemble them and then blow it up. Cheers Mark

yes that would work mark but i did it via amapi i made an arch and then made the arch into about 25 pieces if i remeber right, then i imported the arch as a 3ds then assigned all the key frames regards seeklight
