How do I "ungroup" 3ds objects once imported into Poser? If I import the same object into Bryce then that is no problem but when imported into Poser then it appears as a single prop attached to the figure and I can't separate the different parst of the imported 3ds objects. Any ideas? thanks

As far as I know, you cant ungroup 3DS files in Poser. The only workaround I know of is to regroup the pieces you want to be seperate props, and turn them into individual pieces.

You might be able to bring it in to Poser, then export it out as an object file, create the separtate groups in UV mapper by grabing the material and then save it and bring it into Poser as an object file. Sharen

Poser only reads .3DS Material Groups, which the object may already have. Try this - load the .3DS, then select Poser's Grouping Tool, create a New group and then hit the Add Mat Group button. If there are materials shown in the pop-up, select one (the selected mesh should turn red) hit OK and then hit spawn props. You'll need to do this for each mat. Then just select the original nongroup object and delete it. Be aware that there may be Material Groups listed that don't correspond with any part of the object. HTH; Dan
