Hi Narissa, I did this once with a transparency mapped plane. It didn't come out like I wanted it, but I lost interest in the pic before I got too far with it. Gail

Hi Gail, I think I will try something with the terrain tools, as explained in Varian's tutorial about spraying water. Have you seen those tutorials ? I've found them very interesting (in Varian's dreamview site) Narissa

There are also some lightening models at propsguild. I also have the Thor plugin for RDS(that and treedruid are the only things I know how to do :>)and I could make you some lightening if you wish. It is still difficult to get them to show up, the .mat makes it. Marge

heyas; actually, do you guys know how to make the lighting conditions of an approaching storm? you know, that weird orangish kinda light you see before a storm?? :)

I have been playing around with skies and came up with a couple that are close. When I lose my creative spirit I play with skies :). Marge

Hi Narissa, Sorry, I have not done lightning before but if I would, would also adopt the methoh that Gail did. The only problem I see is that using "plane", there is this problem of blue grunk thing that may or may not show up depending on the color use . If I do have something real nice that I can do with lighning, I'll keep you posted here. I was thinking of silver lining lightning for 'Bird' Park which is now in progress. Bill

heyas; well.... cantcha gimme a lil hint, quess? about what light and ambience settings and colours to use? how about a sky file? (well, just asking!) i did that a day or two, once. too tired to do anything but mess with skies. they really do take a bit of time and attention to get right. they can't be an afterthought. (hmm... better change my working method of building a scene with no atmosphere, then slapping on a pre-made one when i'm done! ;D )
