I live in California and am now getting the AVS error for my perfectly good credit card. Last month I purchased one of Thorne's models in the store with no problems. This month I cannot purchase anything because of this mysterious error. Same credit card too. I live in California ....did renderosity change their Credit card setup or something?

This is the error I now encounter: CC Processing Failure! AVS Failed: RC=???, Problem connecting to the AVS server, please try again.

I am getting exactly the same error. And I am trying to use the same card I have used on my other 8 orders. Frustrating.

Forgot to mention that I live in the crossroads of America... Indiana. So, it is not just with foreign orders.

Yep, me as well. I want to make an order but can't. I know my credit card is good but I still get an AVS connection problem. I live in The Netherlands. How long has this problem been going on? When will it be solved?
Grook posted Tue, 08 August 2000 at 5:21 PM
supposedly , Renderosity thinks its an obscure foreign order thingy. But this month, it has become a problem for a great number of people. Someone needs to inform them!

Well, unless the state of Indiana seceded from the Union while I was asleep, it is not just an obscure foreign order thingy. I just tried to order again a moment ago. Same error message. Ede, my need was not as urgent as yours. I simply saw something that I thought would be a nice touch to a project I am working on and it would also save me some time. So, I can live without it. But it was one of those "...spur of the moment..." sales that the author lost.

Obviously, we have a glitch. This is a new one and I'm not sure what's causing it. The question marks seem to indicate that something in the server may be down. It's unfortunate, but it happens. I have passed this information to our tech people. We are trying to get through the approval process for a new merchant account. That's not a simple or cheap proposition. we're hoping to have it done soon.

It was a problem with our merchant account server. It's now fixed and you should be able to order if you were getting the ??? error message. Sorry for the inconvenience. Diane

Don't bonk me on the head, please. I'm only the messenger. I'm not the technician. :-)

Can we assume that Renderosity will make a general announcement when the problem(s) are fixed. So that we can come back and buy the stuff we want without delay?

Just made an announcement tonight. The problems are fixed. :-)
