Hi y'all! I'm like the most of you, a 2d artist, i also spend time learning 3d with Cinema4D. I was just browsing thru your Gallery and was blown away by many images you created. I was wondering what kind of program you use? Is there also a freeware version of it? I've been searching over the internet, but i haven't found any freeware-fractal-prog that convinced me to try it. I would be very happy if i would get some positive reply's. Thnx in advance! Pat.

We use a lot of different fractal programs, all of which are freeware. I play with a program a while, if I like it, I keep it. If not, I go on to the next one. My favorite program is Vchira and it is available from: http://www.eclectasy.com/Iterations-et-Flarium24/ There are several great fractal programs on that site. You might want to check out Paul N. Lee's website, alot of great stuff there also. For flame fractals, I don't think anything beats Apophysis. Just go to the Apophysis website and download a free copy. Have fun! William

There are many fractal programs available, and most of them are free. The few that aren't are quite reasonably priced. As William said...try out a few! Sterling, Vchira, Fractal Explorer, Apophysis, Fractint...the list is very long, and one will surely suit you. Tres
Fractals will always amaze me!

As said before there are many fractal programs. Speaking for myself, most of the fractals in my images I create with Apophysis.[It Rocks and it's addictive] I also use, fractal explorer, sterlingware and ultrafractal. The first 3 are freeware and the last one you can buy fore a reasonable price. Just type in the name in a good search engine and you will find them. Have fun. Longrider

Hey Pat- Welcome to the world of fractals! I, myself am new to fractal art, having been using 'Blender' for 3D design for a couple of years. I, too, was wowed by the fractal gallery, and decided to give it a try. Check this link for a good selection of free fractal generators: http://www.fractovia.org/fractal_generators/gen01.shtml As stated before, 'Apophysis' is an excellent program for flame fractals, and as longrider said, it is addictive. I am now also using 'Chaos Pro'. With 'Chaos', you can create layered fractals and even import 'Apophysis' flames. And, of course, you can't beat the price--FREE! Hope this helps! Nick
