Hi Poser users, I m new to this group and a new Poser 4 user, just purchased it a month ago and am just starting to use it this week. The question I have for you all if you could help is about a Poser 4 handbook that I see that I can get thru the mail. It is by Shamms R. Mortier, Pub. 1/00. Before I put out any bucks I was wondering if anyone has a copy and could tell me if it is worth the layout of 49.95. I would appreciate any input as i am sick of buying computer books that tell me very little of anything but basics that are covered in manuals.

Hanging around here will get you more information than the handbook. Sadly it is not the resource everyone was hoping for. jje

That's true. There were 1 or 2 useful things in it, but not worth the money. Renderosity is by far a superior resource.

I bought it and I thought it was well worth the money. I bought mine from www.bn.com . I had a $10 gift certificate for buying online but I can't remember where I got the gift certificate from (probably mail marketing). Go into a bookstore and just sit down and read some of the book to make sure it's waht you want. Kimberly krbtv@home.com

How is the CD-ROM that comes with book? Useful models or BVH motion?

I left my CD at work so I'm writing from memory. I believe it had some jail props on it. There was also some BVH motion included. I don't think the CD was that great except for the BVH motions I used. If you already know how to do textures and bump and understand them then the book may not be what you need. It doesn't take the place of the user's manual - it's designed to compliment the manual. The best thing to do is to go to a bookstore and look through the book or buy it from a place that allows returns if the cd hasn't been opened.
