"error in plugin -file format lwo" is what I get when I try to import an LWO into poser. Am I misunderstanding the menu choice under import which reads "Lightwave..." or is it not possible to import an .lwo into Poser? If any of you good people could clarify I would be most grateful. And Thank You.

buckybeaver, some additional info is necessary... 1) what version of lightwave are you using? 2) what is the error message exactly? 3) does it happen with all lwo models or just some?

If you have bryce you could load the object there and save it as a wavefront object for poser. Or you could use some other object converter. I think lightwave objects don`t convert to poser very well.

Poser only imports lw 5.x versions of lwo. I have lightwave 7.5 and can't get my poser 5 to import a model I have created unless I save it as older version. Best to get the OBJ plugin for lightwave and save out of lightwave as an OBJ file. Poser really likes OBJ format much better than any of the other file formats that it supports or claims to. You can get the OBJ file plugin by doing a little digging at www.flay.com I think they have a link to it.

Thanks again. You guys gave me an idea. Since I dont have Lightwave I cant fix this problem, but I do Know somebody who does so I'll ask them to export the desired mesh as an obj for me. I'll also snoop around for the plugin if they dont have it. Once again, thanks.
