My first tutorial here at Renderosity, it is mainly about lighting and fog/haze techniques. I am happy i can contribute something to this wonderful community, and i hope you will find it helpful..:) My next tutorial will be a walk-through of "Bali", with more fog and light techniques, focusing on Vue Pro.

Thats actually a very nice little tutorial : ) Lighting is one of my weaknesses, usually settling for default settings. I'd really like to see a short animation with that image.

For me this is a lot of knowledge on lighting and hazefog techniques. Best freakin' tutorial in a concise walk-thru!!! Looking forward to "Bali", which BTW, I downloaded as a wallpaper to remind me I still got a lot to learn... -ArtJ :D

Thanks for this tutorial! Your technique for getting the fog and haze just right is....well...just right!
Wish I had read it before last weekend when I struggled to get a low altitude fog effect the way I wanted.

I just read the whole tutorial and it is absolutely wonderful! I learned so much that I didn't know. I have played around with the selections, but I didn't know what they were for LOL! Excellent tutorial, thanks for sharing it. And for me it's very timely, as currently I'm trying to get better lighting in Vue. Just one question, when you say "omni" light do you mean "point" light?

BigGreenFurryThing: Yes, of course, foolish me :) Omni is the 3ds Max name for point light. i fixed that up right away. Thanks for pointing out the point issue :)
