AWESOME! I just went to DAZ and bought it! I've been hoping you'd release something like this since your Posergamer days! Can we look foward to other RPG characters being released? Your halflings were awesome! Ok... actually... all of your characters were great! Keep up the great work!

While I do agree that painting on accessories... like the straps isn't the most realistic way, I think Jon did an excellent job while keeping the polygons and overhead low. You're certainly welcome to your opinion, which of course is based on your EXTENSIVE experience of one free stuff and 2 gallery pics...
Crescent posted Thu, 13 November 2003 at 11:58 PM
_Audrey is the partner of _Dodger, so she does have some experience in this via him. Something to consider: the conduct of one partner tends to influence people's perceptions of the other partner.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome given to these guys :) _Audrey, of course you're entitled to your opinion, just wanted to point out that having a set with different looks and modelling all the differences would mean 4 different tunics, not to mention how much that would slow down some machines - heh, you can't have a party with just one :) I seriously hope you're not bashing all DAZ products with painted on details such as the Platinum Club textures which are among the best!
nikitacreed posted Fri, 14 November 2003 at 12:46 PM
These rock so very very much! I love it! Thank you!
jade_nyc posted Fri, 14 November 2003 at 4:14 PM
gee looks like _Audrey has her husband's habit of deleting posts so no one can see what they said ;) I personally like hand-painted details - just because you can model every detail in clothing doesn't mean you should - keeps the polygon count low and easier on my system.
kayjay97 posted Fri, 14 November 2003 at 4:19 PM
yep Janet. You are right. BAd habit that right? And hand painted details don't bother me at all and Jon's rock

Oh, now that was just rude, don't ya think? Hand painted or modeled, if it's from John, it's gold as far as I'm concerned :) And from a texturer's point of view, sometimes you don't want all of that "modeled in" stuff in the way of your imagination :) Rock on John!!! Pendy
chrisjol posted Fri, 14 November 2003 at 4:42 PM
As the post is gone I'm not completely sure what this is about but, the success of hand painted detail depends on the quality of the textures, and these textures are AMAZING !!!
keweljewels posted Fri, 14 November 2003 at 7:16 PM
I just want to say these are superb...like you expect dwarves to look like. i love all of Jon's textures, he always gives attention to detail. I always look at his previews his products are wonderful. I just marvel at his talent. I have both hand painted and the other type of textures in my poser library. painted is just as detailed and gorgeous with a superb artist. i have a lot of PC textures that are painted. they are high quility and render with beautiful detail.
