rcook's RTEncoder utility (here in Free Stuff) is required for installation. Mason's Morph Manager utility (also in Free Stuff) will be helpful when transferring morphs to the figure.
Morph-wise, she can use all of Victoria's body morphs from the neck down, and all of the Millennium Cat's head, ear, eye, and whisker morphs. The upper neck section is a unique geometry I crafted to bridge the gap between the two meshes, which does not accept morphs from either figure.
Texture-wise, she's compatible with all Victoria body textures and Millennium Cat head textures. I will initially provide a free body texture (shown above) that works well with the red tabby texture brokered at DAZ. Other textures are in development by me and others, and will be available shortly.

Here's a closeup of the new body texture. This will be available as a separate download. It works equally well on regular Victoria figures.
I'm providing it as "open source", in a manner similar to Lyrra's Shades of Michael textures. This means you are free to modify and then redistribute the altered textures as you see fit, so long as you don't sell them.

In case anyone needs additional body textures before the next batch are finished, I can point out several free and commercial products that are already available. And a few more, if you have the Universal Texture Convertor.
Little_Dragon posted Sat, 15 November 2003 at 7:55 PM
One final closeup, in the event anyone's wondering what the feet look like. I have newfound respect for all those texture makers out there who have to struggle with seams and the like. Not that I didn't respect them before ....

A couple of older renders for variety, since they're already wasting valuable space on the server:
The first uses Daio's Felis Sapiens body texture (after conversion through the UTC). The second ... well, the second doesn't have a body texture. But that's a lovely sweater, isn't it?

Thank you. I agonized over their inclusion for several days, and even consulted several experts for their opinions on the matter of anthropomorphic physiology. This release will only be version 1.0 of "Mia". I'll continue to improve her over the next few months (morphs, textures, etc.), and digitigrade legs will probably be a future option.

This really looks like a great texture. Good job and I for one will be watching for it. I don't want to get too far OT here, but didn't I read someplace that you was planning on releasing some updates to your great Furrette characters? Not sure where I saw this [Poser Pros?], but I have been watching for further info on this. As to your comment on forgetting 'nudity tags' on a couple of pix...I would think the tag on the thread header would be sufficienct to notify any viewer of impending eye strain...LOL.

Are they nude if they are covered in fur from tip to tail? If fur (and an animal nature) isn't enough, then we'll be putting goldfish in sweaters and draping tableclothes over horses in our purience. Meanwhile, I'm encouraging you to do the digitigrade legs! And yes, I agree about the foot and hand pads. Skrogg still can't get a grip on the doorknob, but without the pads, she wouldn't have a whisker of a chance. This looks just wonderful. :)= Carolly

Does Inuyasha turn into a wolf at some point? I haven't seen all the episodes.
MaPPer or I will provide a black texture eventually, BastBlack. I'm hoping he'll drop by soon with a preview of his calico texture.
Siamese body textures are definitely in the works. And if you don't have the MilCat textures from DAZ, Kathleen Predmore has a free Siamese texture at Cloudland Castle.
mondoxjake:
I've been juggling multiple projects lately, and also had to play host to a holiday guest around Halloween. As a result, Furrette 2.0 has been delayed. She's still in the works, however, and I hope to have something ready by Thanksgiving, or the end of the month at the latest. With this stage of Mia's development completed, I can devote more time to Furrette.
The many improvements to Furrette will include:
A new, higher-resolution mesh
Better texture mapping
More facial expressions
A shirtless torso so she can wear all manner of clothing (or none at all)
Posable eyes and ears
Transmapped fur
She'll also be the first figure to undergo my experimental digitigrade leg transplant surgery, so if it works out for her, Mia will be next.

Any chance you you doing a version for V3? I don't own V2 or V1. Other than that, it looks great. The only thing that bothers me (and this has nothing to do with your modeling) is the face of the actual cat. To me, a cat woman should have slightly more human features - and I'm sure there will be morphs out there to fix this in the near future. I realize that it's just the millenium cat's head hacked onto the victoria body - so it's understandable that the cat should look.....Well, like the millenium cat. Well done! (Please do a V3 version!)

Nalif, I'll consider doing a V3 version in the future, but I probably won't have time until next year. I have several other projects in the wings right now. At the moment, the only Unimesh figure installed on my system is the Freak, and I only put him on to make some trousers.
Painting the textures for V3 would actually be easy, though. I actually start off with the V3 template, so I don't have as many seams to wrestle with, then convert to V2 with the UTC and touch up the results.
Creating a "human" morph for the MilCat head sounds like an intriguing idea.

As a part-time betatester (I say part-time because with the Christmas Season and me working retail, I have almost no spare time anymore), I've had the pleasure of working with Mia for a while. I've been working on a new Sheuen tex but put that aside recently to whip up Sheuen's "superhero" alter ego. LD's wolf morph for Mia is just wonderful and really worked to bring this character (see link) to life. So, go check the image to see the Millenium Catwoman as a non-cat person :DWonderful, wonderful work Little Dragon! And for those awaiting digitigrade feet (raises hand and waves wildly), a work-around is Lemurtek's Second Nature characters with all but the legs and feet hidden and yanked-n-pulled into the pose.

lhiannan, any chance of making those textures available in the future, either commercially or as freebies?
lhiannan posted Mon, 17 November 2003 at 8:01 PM
I'd love to, but the Anubis texture is based off the Bast texture at Daz... I IM'd LisaB and LaurieS regarding their Siamese tex that I used to make a Siamese body for Mia and if I hear back maybe I'll see about Bast's... or maybe I'll just break down and actually do the thing from scratch.
Little_Dragon posted Tue, 18 November 2003 at 12:04 AM
Doing them from scratch is usually best. I should probably start a new thread and set up a poll to determine which texture I paint next. Mapper already has the calico covered, but that leaves ten others to match.

This one matches the Millennium Cat black shorthair texture brokered at DAZ, so use that for the head if you have it. And for those of you who asked, the siamese is next in line.
I'm afraid I didn't have time to create any detailed preview renders, as I'm about to leave for the big "After-Thanksgiving" sale. Only four shopping weeks until Christmas, after all. I'll put up something when (if) I return later today.

These aren't the long-promised digitigrade legs, although they're a step in that direction; it's a quick-and-dirty experiment in replacement geometry. The toes are separate .obj files in my geometry folder, used in place of Victoria's/Mia's regular toes. I could put them in the CR2 as swappable geometry instead, but their UV-mapping doesn't quite line up with the original (for obvious reasons).

LD!!! Never mind!!! You can ignore the previous post as well my email message to you!!! I solved the problem!!!!!!! Had to do it in two different attempts Thankfully when I purchased the Millenium Cat and Victoria, I downloaded BOTH PC and Mac versions. First I had to download the rteencoder and put it on my wife's PC, I was able to decode stage 1 that way. When I tried to decode stage 2, it kept telling me the CRC was wrong. I then remembered that my daughter saw me working with Poser 5, so she asked if I'd put Poser on her PC.. I still have my Mac/PC hybrid install CD of Poser 3, so I put that on hers. I took a gamble and installed Vicki on her machine (it worked, despite being Poser 3!) and was able to use the correct blMilWom.obj file to decode stage 2! I Then ran it through Maconverter and put it in with my Poser 5 installation. I'm now able to use Mia on my mac! Woohoo! Now... if I can just find hair style that's even remotely close to the "reverse mullet" (Linna's hair from BGC Tokyo 2040) I'm lousy at making hair, so I'm not going to try it unless absolutely necessary!

This is an incremental update ... minor alterations to the figure geometry (mainly the new four-toed feet), changes to the internal names of certain morphs, and the addition of some claw morphs for the toes. Nothing big.
You'll probably want to download the textures again, as they've been modified for use with the new toes and claws. I'll have a couple more texture sets ready this weekend.

I want to have this lady very badly!!! The RTEncoder needs file "blMilWom" which I can only be found off of Vicky 1 or 2, and I only have "blMilWom_v3". Is there any way to make this wonderful feline lady compatable with Vicky 3? (I read the the notes but I hoped to find some way to make her work). I have the Mil cat so the first part of the decoding was fine but the second half doesnt decode due to the incorrect file name. Please please is there any way to skirt this issue?

Unfortunately, Mia is a hybrid of V2 and the MilCat. But! Little Dragon (if I am remembering rightly and not just having pleasant dreams) has said he is working on a V3 hybrid. If you follow Crescent's tutorial at http://www.fallencity.net/tut-posa/index.php (under Anime I)and use the MilCat instead of the AnimeDoll, you can transplant the MilCat's head onto V3 yourself. It's not that hard, just tedious. I've put the MilDog's head onto V2 this way. EDIT: Apparently, Cres has updated with simpler tutorials. Look at the "Pop I" for the Pop Tops tutorial showing how to put FigXhead on FigYbody.

Many thanks Ihiannan! I am going to dive right in and try this out! (Thankfully the textures for Mil catwoman work on V3(I just noticed the figure of V3V2 and they import beautifully onto her). Now all I need is the head. grin
lhiannan posted Sat, 14 August 2004 at 12:05 PM
Definately need that MilCat, whether using Mia or making your own. What you'll do, as the tute will tell you, is load V3 (or V3-V2 in your case) and the MilCat, hide V3's head & other head parts, hide everything but the MilCat's head then move/scale the MilCat until the head "fits" onto V3. Note the quotes on "fits". It's not going to be perfect. LD modeled a new neck with a skull base for Mia. But, most hair will cover any gaps in the mesh, plus there is postwork. :) LLLLLhiannan ;D

People have suggested a DIY neck-splice, emulating what Little_Dragon did to create Mia but without changing the legs. Isn't it also possible to splice Vicky legs onto Mia? Depending on where you make the join there might not be any discontinuity, unlike using the MilCat head.
randym77 posted Mon, 20 September 2004 at 3:54 PM
The original version of Mia had normal human feet. Perhaps both versions could be offered?
randym77 posted Mon, 20 September 2004 at 4:08 PM
The readme says no distribution, so no one can send it to you except Little Dragon. Unless he gives permission.
randym77 posted Mon, 20 September 2004 at 4:35 PM
Nah. I'm sure Little Dragon will give you the file, or give permission, as soon as he sees your request.
randym77 posted Mon, 20 September 2004 at 4:47 PM
Don't worry, I'm sure he'll either give you the file, or give someone else permission to give it to you. And remember, DAZ has a 30-day, no-questions-asked money back guarantee, if you decide you don't want to keep the MilCat. (Though I love that model myself. It's one of my favorites.) I wonder if the MilCat LE that DAZ just released in that bundle of theirs is compatible with Mia?

Trust me, Little_Dragon is a very fair person and generous to a fault. Send him an instant message or an e-mail, Dfennec, and I'm sure he'll get you those files. Sincerely, Bill

Hey, it's okay, we all have our preferences. Me? I like the digitigrade motif, but I still want a feminine symmetry to the thigh and shin section. It can be a tricky balance (yes, pun intended). Actually, I discovered if I slightly scale up the toes in Mia's latest version and then arch her foot as if she's wearing high heels, I obtain pretty much the effect I want. Other, I realize, want completely human looking hands and feet (though textured to suggest fur). That's the dilemma, there is no single anthro' "standard". There's all kind of permutations. There's everything from kawaii looking neko-chans simply sporting cat ears and sometimes tails to near bestial beings that can barely walk upon their hind legs. THEN we have the six limbed 'taurs! Let us know how it goes! Sincerely, Bill

Which version of Poser are you using? I've been modifying some Judy clothing to fit Posette and Furrette, and even though I can re-group the .obj file to allow for the changes (no buttock groups, so that have to be shifted to thighs and hip, joint between thigh and shin at a different height), there's other stuff associated with the boning. There's a significant shift on the Z-axis, and the boning has to be adjusted relative to the clothing-mesh. (There's other differences, but I did get the Combat Pants usable with a only minor poke-through to deal with.) In Poser 5 you can fiddle with that in the setup room. I'm not sure about Poser 4. Anyway, I can see you having to tweak the boning because of similar descrepancies in the default positions of the two meshes.

Have you IM'ed Little Dragon? He posted last night about midnight, so he's around. He might not be reading this thread, though.
randym77 posted Tue, 21 September 2004 at 6:41 AM
So, did he give you the file? If he doesn't have it any more, I can give it to you...if he grants permission.
randym77 posted Tue, 21 September 2004 at 7:01 AM
I'll ask him if it's okay if I give it to you. It's almost 3 Mb. I can e-mail a file that size, if you can accept attachments that big.

Quick question. The body has no morph targets. Are there any decent, free breast morphs for Vicky 2? I've seen dozens for V3, as I want to, well, reduce Mia's bustline a little bit. Dfennec
lhiannan posted Tue, 21 September 2004 at 11:14 PM
You can use Morph Manager to transfer V2's own body morphs to Mia. A quick web search for "morph manager" will turn up sites hosting this wonderful utility.
Little_Dragon posted Wed, 22 September 2004 at 6:41 AM
All V1/V2-compatible body morphs should work on the original release of Mia, from the neck down. The upper neck is replacement geometry.
Jaager has a few dozen custom breast morphs (among others) at Club Vicki.

If you check freestuff, I released "Chakra", a Siamese texture for Mia w/ Vickie feet.
dfennec posted Mon, 27 September 2004 at 5:25 PM
Okay, stupid question time. How do I apply this texture? I'm using Poser 5
lhiannan posted Mon, 27 September 2004 at 5:46 PM
I don't think it has a MAT file (I'm still learning)... I recently downloaded a Python script to write MATs... let me see if I can create a file for you... IM me your email, if you would, and I'll try to have it to you tonight. I have Poser Pro Pack... All those nodes in P5 frighten me :) In P4/PPP, you go to Render-Materials at the top and load the texture to each part. I have no clue how P5 handles this.
randym77 posted Mon, 27 September 2004 at 6:22 PM
That's for the body. For the head, you'll have to use the Siamese texture from DAZ.
catlin_mc posted Mon, 27 September 2004 at 6:29 PM
randym77 do you mean we can use any of the heads for the cat? Oh and is it the P4 cat or the Mil cat? If that's possible I'm thinking of using the cat heads whilst she's wearing the catsuit, then I won't have to rush to figure out to make body textures. 8)
randym77 posted Mon, 27 September 2004 at 6:36 PM
You can use any of DAZ's Milcat textures for the head. (It is the Millennium Cat's head, after all. :-) Just select Mia's head, then use the DAZ MAT file. The problem is that you need a matching body texture, or it looks rather strange!

Until my bandwith is sucked dry, I'll be hosting a MAT file for my Chakra for Mia character...Chakra MAT only. Download the texture from my freestuff here on R'osity.

Does anyone still have the original 1.0 UV maps they could point me to? I want to add my own textures, but the only UV map I have is v1.2 Any help would be appreciated, thanks. :)
lhiannan posted Sun, 03 October 2004 at 3:37 PM
It's the MilCat head and the V2 body. Templates for each will work.
dfennec posted Sun, 03 October 2004 at 4:40 PM
Trouble is I don't have them, and I have no idea where to find them either. Well, I can find Mia v1.2 here but it's useless to me.
AntoniaTiger posted Sun, 03 October 2004 at 4:44 PM
I'd check DAZ3D, as they do seem to make templates available for free download.
dfennec posted Sun, 03 October 2004 at 4:57 PM
Heh, or I can use UV-Mapper, I forgot about that little utility. ^_^ Didn't mean to sound all frustrated there either. Dfennec
randym77 posted Mon, 04 October 2004 at 5:24 AM
Yes, that looks correct. At least, it's laid out just like my V1/V2 texture maps. It's okay to post templates, BTW. You can't post textures without permission, but you can post templates.
