I was thinking of creating an eagle in an other 3D program but I was kind of hoping I could ad its bones in poser. Is this possible if I were to create that bird in 3DS max ? And if so, do I also use bones so that I can manipulate the eyelids to change its expression? Thanks, Peevee

You can add bones in the setup room in Poser 5. I think you might even be able to use the hierarchy editor to help you along. i cannot say how best to do expression morphs. I'm sure Little Dragon or someone else will be along with that tip. I would suggest you try to set up your body part grouping while in MAX, as it will probably be easier. Good luck! And of course don't forget to check out the Daz Eagle. There are already lots of textures and body forms available for it (though not for free).

Here's a link to a Setup Room tutorial for Poser 5 and ProPack. It'll show you how to add bones to an imported model.Little_Dragon posted Mon, 17 November 2003 at 8:48 PM
You'd probably be better off creating morph targets to manipulate the eyelids, unless you're working with big, spherical cartoon eyes or something. One of the nicer features of Poser 5 is that after creating symmetric expression morphs that affect the entire face, you can then use the Split Morph feature to break the morph into left and right sides.

thanks, this realy is usefull thanks Oh, does anybody knows, is there a rule ( or a law ) that keeps you from making ( and maybe in the far future, if it works ) selling realistic clones of celebrities?
Little_Dragon posted Tue, 18 November 2003 at 7:41 PM
Many celebrities are aware of the potential benefits and pitfalls of CGI these days, and have trademarked their likenesses to discourage unauthorized usage.
Poser users have, of course, been creating celebrity lookalikes for years, but DAZ set an interesting new precedent in the Poser community recently by licensing supermodel Anna-Marie Goddard's likeness for its first Digital Clone product.
Renderosity has a copyright forum, as does DAZ. Someone there can probably provide a detailed explanation of the legal ramifications.
