<sigh> I was going to resist them for now, but going the extra distance to make 'em compatible with M2 & V2 did me in. I'll pick 'em up today... bstrd! ;-) -- Walt Sterdan, Freelance

Will a Mike-Vicky-combo-pack be available?
the3dwizard posted Thu, 20 November 2003 at 8:24 PM
Fredy, There will not be a combo pack. Thanks for asking. Cheers! Phillip

DAZ did not want to take up store space with the bundle pack. A valid point. So we just priced the seperate packs lower to encourage people to buy both. Right now, with the intro sale price, these packs are only $13.97 each.
ChuckEvans posted Thu, 20 November 2003 at 10:46 PM
The prices are great! But so much to buy. I think you have my number, Gorodin! You do such great work.
Gorodin posted Thu, 20 November 2003 at 11:10 PM
Thanks! Props to the3DWizard as well, who modeled it all, and designed the weapons, boots and headgear.
Fredy posted Fri, 21 November 2003 at 8:54 AM
Thx Gorodin & 3DWizard I was only curious because there was also a bundle pack announced... So I thought: "better ask before buy". The price is definately ok! And I will buy both of them!Already waiting since the first promo pics for those two packs... ;-)
Gorodin posted Fri, 21 November 2003 at 10:25 AM
Yeah, you are right, we did announce a bundle as that was the original plan. But like I said, DAZ did not want us taking up 3 slots when they had so much other stuff in the release queue. Oh well... Cheers, -G

I got them and have already tried them out - they're beautiful! So when will we see those other Scifi uniforms you previewed here earlier? And, if I may be so bold, how 'bout some Concord high-ranking officer's uniforms - Admiralty or General Staff type stuff? I'm not advanced enough yet to figure out your decal system from the Concord Marines and Navy, but I will be sooner or later. I'd love to see some uniforms (either as MATS or decals) with a bunch of extra glittery doodads, ribbons and epaulets and such. Thanks!
LonCray posted Fri, 21 November 2003 at 1:22 PM
Oh, I almost forgot - any chance of seeing the earlier Concord packages (and the other Scifi Uniforms you sell here) updated for M3? Thanks again!
Fredy posted Fri, 21 November 2003 at 1:27 PM
@LonCray Those "high ranking stuff" is a very nice idea!!!
LonCray posted Fri, 21 November 2003 at 3:26 PM
Thanks Fredy! Star Trek always had different uniforms for Admirals (even in the low-budget Original Series days), and the classiest uniforms on Star Wars belong to Tarkin and his people. I've tried to pick up everything Scifi Gorodin has done, and that's the one thing I think he's missing. By the way, a number of folks have asked if there's a written Concord mythos someplace - if there isn't I'm sure there's no shortage of folks to come up with one!
Gorodin posted Sat, 22 November 2003 at 12:22 AM
Well, I will try to answer as many of those questions as possible :-)
**"So when will we see those other Scifi uniforms you previewed here earlier?"
**
I currently have several projects in progress right now:
Armored Skinz - I still need to do up boot and glove textures for all versions.
Concord Scout - The3DWizard just recently handed me the Alpha geometry, and I really need to get all the textures done for that.
Concord Commandos - Lourdes was doing the modeling on this. I have seen the Alpha geometry she did for the Mikes, but I think we both let this one coast for a bit while we finished other projects. But it is looking REAL good so far...
Mercenary Joe - I need to finish the morphs on this, then test and release. (i'm modeling it all)
A project with DraX, codenamed "Chance", that will be very cool, with a kick-ass trenchcoat. This project probably has the farthest to go.
I have had a request for a cybercop expansion texture set for the Concord Elite, along the lines of Minority Report. I am seriously considering this.
I have also more or less commited to an "Armored Skinz" expansion text for the Elite as well. This would be an inexpensive expansion, or possibly even offered free to people who have bought both sets.
My highest priority right now is a morphing clothing item commissioned by DAZ. I am working on the grouping right now. I'm not sure how much more I can say about that one...
So as you can see, my plate is pretty full. And as I also have a day job, I cannot guarantee when you will see any particular thing.

Next question... "And, if I may be so bold, how 'bout some Concord high-ranking officer's uniforms - Admiralty or General Staff type stuff?" As you mentioned, the rank insignia is all there in the decals... and I mean ALL there. Most of the sets also have multiple versions of the uniforms -- one set for officers, one set for enlisted. Headgear and other stuff included with the elite set and the upcoming scout set was deliberately designed to work with some of the older sets. For example, all of the Sout items work great with the Pathfinders, just as the Elite compliments the Marines pack. The elite includes officer and crew caps to help get that officer distinction you are looking for. Having said all that, I understand not everyone will be able to use the decal system, and there are 2 things I have in mind to address that: 1) Once I learn how to do geometry swapping, I hope to create a super morphing rank pin figure. It would smart-prop or conform to the figure, and you can change it to any of th eavailable ranks by turning the dial. This would be included in any subsequent Concord packs, or available as a freebie. 2) I plan to build a belt and shoulder-strap combo and create versions of all the previous concord textures without the belts. This belt and texture set would be available as a set of updates. Whether they are free depends on how much work it takes, but it would not cost much regardless. Beyond that, dressier uniforms, with jackets and pants, etc., are not out of th equestion. I already have several designs sketched, just as I have designs for Medicos, Senators, Prisoners, Pilots, and several others. But there is no telling if or when I will get to any of these projects.

"By the way, a number of folks have asked if there's a written Concord mythos someplace " I am not sure that I can comment on that at this time.

I just want to know who the Concord force goes up against. All the good guys are clothed or getting there by the descriptions of work to come, but some evil enemy packs, bandit, merc packs etc would be nice as a varity and for throwin in jail shooting at with those fine weapons. Love the packs, the ideas and the looks. Fabulious job on all the packs and the new ones.

I've finally done a render that might just be good enough to post in a gallery here - used Concord Elites with a Project Z wrist hologram unit (best lookin' scifi prop I know of!) and some AFA backgrounds - working up the courage to post it here! Also working on learning enough Photoshop to use the Gorodin decals - I LOVE the idea of a dialable rank pin system - esp. if it lets me generate/input my own rank system! As to the mythos, now I'm all kinds of curious - hope something comes out about it soon! Thanks Gorodin!
