THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: More Bryce/Win 2k woes

Ok, just installed win 2k SP4 and bryce now keeps telling me I have an invalid Serial No. I've tried removing and re-installing both win 2k SP4 and Bryce to no avail. Works fine on 2k SP4 on a different machine, it's just my lapdog that this is happening on :-( Anyone got any hints or tips ? Can't change from 2k sp4 it's corporate choice.

lucky dawg..XP is our corp choice..;) Don't you guys have a site license? that's usually the way we go. (Well, actually we have an installation program with canned installs, the accounting..hoo boy..;) I don't know from Bryce, but I know Poser will go out and check for copies running on a given network, and then refuse to run if it finds one (gives Zone Alarm fits..;). I'd check the packaging that came with Bryce, and try using the original SN..if that fails, go by www.corel.com and ask them, that's what they get paid for..;) good luck.

Thanks for the tip-off, Gog. I was just about to instal SP4 on mine.... Sorry you got troubles. Incidently, Bryce 5 has been a bit weird on Win2k. Had to re-install it twice and it's still not 100%.....I'll live with it for now but I suspect I'll have to do something about it soon.

Hmmm, don't know what to tell ya, I have Win2K Pro SP4, for some time now, no problems with Bryce 4 or 5, they sure run way faster now than with Win98! Bryce doesn't do a network check as far as I have seen. (like Poser does) AS

In installed SP4 some time ago and have no problems with Bryce and WIn2k.

I have Win2K Pro but with SP2 and I've never had any problems. I have heard of some users experiencing some minor problems with SP4, but as far as the cause, I've no idea,........sorry.

When I dot my upgrade to B5 from B3, I had to call up Corel for a serial number as the one they.d included in the package was wrong as it only upgraded B4 - they even say so in the documentation in the box. It might be something like that.

It's not that, this was a working installation before I installed SP4, anyway now for the good news, I installed the new MS security patch today and bryce now works?????? This completely re-inforces my view of windows, if Bryce and Max ran on Linux, I'd nuke windows permanently :-(

Gog, come to think of it Gmax was having some type of problem relating to one of the MS virus/worm patches. I don't think MS ever got a perminant patch made for it. But thats just it - As long as Gates has the OS market tied up and most are using windows whacha gonna do? Most software including any I might or might not make in the future depends on Windows.
