Hi, probably you remember my WIP thread (see attached link). I want to thank you all for your great feedback. I've finished the Old Pharmacy now and will proceed to model the next buildings of that street. To thank you all, this model will be released as freebie soon. The mesh is fully divided into texture groups for easy importing and texturing. I hope you look forward to its release! :-) Take Care, Jimi

Whoa. Is this line art render a new feature of Bryce 5?

derjimi posted Sat, 22 November 2003 at 12:22 PM

No, unfortunately not. It's a exported image of the modelling program I use - SketchUp. :) J.

Fantastic piece of work derjimi, I've been fiddling with sketchup a little, but nothing even close to that. Amorphium Pro has my attention at the moment. :) Beautiful Structure.

Awesome modeling and texturing job. Looks great at night, too.

Thank you all. :-) Bryster, the textures are some bitmaps I tweaked a bit with bump and ambience.

OMG no wonder your models look so fantastic! The detail even up close is amazing. I am in awe, great model!

Thanks for that, Jimi! Small point, something for later maybe, the wooden frame in this kind of structure would have grain running along the long axis of each piece. The joints were usually secured with round wooden dowels. I think you should consider this when planning your next masterpiece. This however, is seriously good stuff. Well done.

Yeah, texturing always is a problem for me. The "grain" problem is difficult for me to solve. For the joints: also true. Probably I will model them at my next house. You know I plan to do a whole street. ;) Ang - I love to model the detail very much. I could've done the wood by texture but I wanted to model it instead. :) J

Wonderful model and texturing. Anyone haveing problems with the way the grain runs in their textures should map the part with box mapping in uv mapper, then everything will work great when imported using the "parametric" option. Note I am not saying to use the template, only that the part should make the trip through uv mapper so that it will hold textures right.
