From a previous post, used shadowdragonlord's (get a smaller handle) idea about turning the blending mode from "light" to "basic". My first attempt started okay, but I wanted to tweak it a bit. The next attempt went south. I have been pulling non-existent hair from my head, until I discovered, every time I went back into the light dialog, blending was always reset to "light" mode. So, anyway, here's the latest result. I think I'm through with this experiment, though. I've been working on it for about a year. I think I finally understand how this works. BTW, the image took over three days to render, because both the light and the brick texure were major bears... (Again, the oiginal image is by Allen Bruce Zee, called "Waiting for the Believers". Thanks, again to you "light" gurus...

This just keeps getting better and better. Total difference from the last rendering. Keep this up and you'll be getting a e-mail from the Pope. Great job...

HOLY SH!T!!! HE LIVES!!!! Hey Bro, what's going on? Nice work ya got going there. But the floor needs more bump and there is no sky in the background and there are too many lines on the wall the wall texture and the light is...and I know, you're saying SCREW YOU BOOMER right about now. Sorry, I couldn't resist breaking your chops. Seriously, though, it looks really good. Nice job. Stay safe.
Because I like to blow $%&# up.

Actually, the floor sucks. I think I'm going to make each stone a terrain. The scale of the brick work needs adjusting. (This is actually a procedural, way long on rendering.) And I'd REALLY like to get some striations in the lighting effect. Anyway, this has been an experiment from day one (and I believe those days now total 400+) Boomer: been back a bit (check those ebots!) The latest "plane" warning has kept me busy. And, Boomer, SCREW YOU! Just kidding, all. Boomer and I are of the type to bust one anothers chops now and again. (Can you say 'Testosterone?' I knew you could!)

Oh, and Boomer, look at the original from Zee... no sky. Jeez, I just love bustin' yer chops! (heh, heh, heh)

Aye, I agree about the floor, but this image is much better and shows a LOT of progression! Keep at it, and remember these techniques for other images...!!!
