A friend of mine asked recently if I knew of a way to change the error messages in Photoshop. He said he had heard of a method at a PS conference a couple of years ago. Does anyone know how to do this?

What do you mean? So you get a different message?

Exactly. I wasn't sure about this either, but I figured what the hell.

If you're using a Mac, you use a program called ResEdit. Simply open up the application in ResEdit and search for the error strings resource. This works on most Mac apps. If you're on a PC, good luck.

Be very, very, careful though! Have heard numerous nightmares about screw-ups with resedit.

Ah! The dreaded resedit! It's not as bad as all that. I've been using it for 6 or 7 years with not one problem.
