So, it's a Country-Western band? :^) Very nice logo, turned out great!

Wow Shadow, that's a cool logo! I have to re-design my band's logo so your post is helping inspire me. It's nice to know that you and Foleypro are fellow Washingtonians. I live a little further down the I-5 in Vancouver, WA.

A couple of things, TJOHN, it's a METAL band, silly! (knows you were just playin...) Svaelt, these prints were NOT ordered, my brother printed them himself at his shop, at Rainier Displays in Tukwilla. You can contact them directly, at (800)869-7162 or email me and I will have my brother, Pete, contact you. It's not printing ON a drumhead. It is a large decal. Remember that a drumhead is constantly moving, printing directly on them would be inefficient due to ink not being able to withstand that kind of vibration. It's a decal, and stretchy. Also, it's a double-bass pedal bass drum. This thing gets hit harder than Mike Tyson, and these drumheads get replaced quite often. He prints them on a decal to cut down costs, and also so he can have a few backups for when they switch heads... Thanks for the compliments, everyone, I hope I made it clear that my BROTHER did all of the work on these, AND he printed them himself. He's just web-shy!!! He developed the materials, the layouts, and the lighting, I merely helped him on the render-to-disk process so he could get it at a high enough resolution, and answered a couple of questions about light gels and the like... File size for the .bmp was 135MB.
striving posted Sat, 29 November 2003 at 6:16 PM
135MB BMP!!!!!!! INSANE! Man, I dont know if I could even open that in Corel on my PC. Cool work.. I am still trippin on the file size of the bmp...lol They have a site with sound samples? Still a metalhead myself.... ;-)
foleypro posted Sat, 29 November 2003 at 8:17 PM
Metal/chunkage all the way...I play Rythmn and Lead 6 and 12 string also 4-5-6 string bass also dabble a little on the keyboards and Vocals...I listen to the Funky Monkey and The End Like listening to all the newer stuff...Linkin Parks "Numb" is sweet...Randy Rhoades Rocked.... Is the software that they are useing only able to read BMP or is that the preferred file format?Using other Formats will retain color and balance alot better then a BMP and the file sizes are alot smaller....
catlin_mc posted Sat, 29 November 2003 at 11:23 PM
I've been told that png is a good format to use because it uses lossless compression, and although I'm not totally sure about it, sounds very good news. 8) Catlin

Hey I used to play rhythm too! Back in the day... By the way that's an awesome logo!
shadowdragonlord posted Sun, 30 November 2003 at 4:50 AM
PNG would have no difference in this case, Catlin, but I will look into it a bit for reference! His file wouldn't open for shit in my Photoshop, either, even with 512DDR... He did the post on a Mac, of all things, which had over a GB of RAM. He printed it on a Vu-Tec printer with a PC which had over 2 GB DDR... Just some reference for others who are interested... Also, the banner was NOT printed lengthwise, but sideways. Shows you what kind of printer this Vu-Tec is, and there's not really anything on the market that would touch it. It's the best. It prints up to 13 feet WIDE, take that, Lexmark! (cackles!)
foleypro posted Sun, 30 November 2003 at 8:45 AM
Hahahahaha... Holy Donkey droppings Batman,13 feet wide,Why thats bigger then Osama's Buttoski,Butt not by much tho... I just Bought an Epson Stylus 1520....Prints upto 22" wide and however long the Spool of Material will be....I just got it to do Calendars and Posters but hey Now I know where to go when I need some huge Banners Printed out....

Shadow I've got 1Gb ddr ram on my puter, and my M/B can take up to 3Gb. So I may invest in some more of that memory thang. 8) Catlin

Aye, some more info on that ridiculous printer, if anyone cares. It's a UV-curing printer, meaning it doesn't have to "dry" the inks, it cures them instantly under it's own lamp. And the pricetag : $500,000. Methinks I'll take a bit of advantage of this one while my brother works there, who knows when I'll have that kind of cash sitting around!
Svaelt posted Mon, 01 December 2003 at 8:05 AM
Make shure your brother never quit his job. i think we all want to take advantage of him.

I can print huge posters at school :D costs lots less then $500, 'cause the school pays part of the costs. just realizes something Hey, I could make massive profit selling artwork that way! Low printing costs, default pricing when I sell it, this could be fun :D
