Is it a BSD, a Child of Gaia, or even...a Black Fury? ;-) That figure looks great!
sixus1 posted Tue, 02 December 2003 at 11:29 AM
I would say this is closer in spirit to the Silver Fangs actually. Our other werewolf was more in the feel of how I picture the Black Spiral Dancers or Get of Fenris.
BrokenAngel9 posted Tue, 02 December 2003 at 11:39 AM
yep, Silver Fang, maybe Get, too. Too tough for a tree hugger, err, Child of Gaia after looking at it closely again now that one goes onto my wishlist for sure.
vulcanis posted Tue, 02 December 2003 at 11:43 AM
That's wonderful. The modeling looks to be more smooth and the textures look great. Friday is too far away, lol

The thing I am most pleased with out of the Garou is that, IMO, it isn't really a replacement or "upgrade" to the older one, but a very solid companion piece or standalone in it's own right. I'm a huge fan of Werewolf: The Apocolypse and through the years have encountered enough others in the Poser coummity that I feel there is definitely room for releasing a few different takes on the werewolf concept. We have a few clothing packs in the works both for this one and for the older werewolf that I hope to have see the light of day soon as well including tattered pants and shirt as well as a pretty in depth shaman kit.
vulcanis posted Tue, 02 December 2003 at 12:44 PM
I like the shape of the head and ears better on the Garou. Not that there was anything wrong with the first werewolf. This version just fits my "imagined werewolf ideal" more closely, lol.
sixus1 posted Tue, 02 December 2003 at 12:57 PM
I think this one definitely has the potential for more heroic appearances than the first one. The old werewolf was sort of intended to be pretty evil looking. Kind of befitting for the figure that was the real kickoff of our foray into the Poser figure market. :)
Little_Dragon posted Tue, 02 December 2003 at 12:59 PM
Very nice; I hope that a female counterpart will be developed, also. Any progress on Felicity, or is she still on the back burner? I got bored while waiting and built my own out of Victoria 2 and the Millennium Cat.
sixus1 posted Tue, 02 December 2003 at 1:04 PM
We still have her on hand, but shelved her primarily because I felt the figure was too dense and had a rather homely face. :) We have plans to either resurrect that figure with a totally resculpted head or to use our Lilin: Human Female figure as a basis for a totally different iteration of Felicity. I'm personally leaning toward the latter as I love our human female and think we could do a much nicer Felicity based on parts of her.

Looking good! But is the mesh as "resource intensive" as your earlier werewolf? I really loved that model; wonderful shoulder muscles and arms, brutal looking snout and menacing teeth...but was put off by the size (polygon-wise) of the model (even larger than the DAZ Millenium Dragon?). The Garou's thighs are better...more powerful looking; however, give him a bit more of a "bubble butt" (it's rather "skinny" now, given the overall muscularity of his build) and slightly stronger/thicker fingers. Looking forward to a more "resource-friendly" Garou! :-D
sixus1 posted Tue, 02 December 2003 at 6:55 PM
hmmm... more rounded butt... will have to look into that as a last minute addition before product release...

40 K polys sounds good! (That's down from Werewolf v1.1's 200 K polys). You would really make my day if you would also include a "vascularity" bump map to add thick, powerful veins on Garou's body, especially on the arms, chest and biceps for that freaky (hey, is that a full moon?)lycanthrope look. :-) p.s. Any tongue morphs?
sixus1 posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 1:03 PM
Bigger Booty morph added :) Vascularity bump will be a freebie in the near future. It has bump, but it accentuates the fur and muscles, not bulging veins. Oh, and did I mention...this guy comes with "Equipment" ? Les is doing product shot for the fuzzball right now. Should be available earlier than anticipated.....probably tonight at our site and uploaded to R'osity (so about a week to come out here).
vulcanis posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 1:06 PM
Cool, so he really can be the Big Bad Wolf, lol.
sixus1 posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 1:10 PM
I got the idea to Equip him when I saw an image where someone stuck one on the other wolf. Well, Todd was just 'thrilled' to do winkie morphs (NOT).
tonymouse posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 3:42 PM
I would think that calling and Garou's "equipment" a winkle is a sure way to get a face full of claws?? mayby it just me???? Who knows.
sixus1 posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 5:06 PM
For the record, it was Rebekah's idea!!! I was happy to have the ole' pup remain neutered but I guess she thought he should be a breeder!:) -Les
Arendar posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 6:31 PM
Thanks for including the "bigger booty" morph! And he comes fully "equipped"? Now you have really made my day! This is an important anatomical detail that is too often overlooked or avoided by some; I'm glad that you decided otherwise. It'll sure be useful for those "Moonlight sonata" moments! Again, will he have "tongue" morphs? (as in "all the better to lick the blood off your bones my dear...grrrowl!") Can't wait for Garou's release! ;-)
sixus1 posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 6:56 PM
He has morphs for tongue up, tongue down, tongue out and side to side. Hehehehe.... I must admit to sort of avoiding the >ahem< equipping of our figures. Something about the handling of monster genitalia gives me the willies. Rebekah has started insisting on it though. :) Very bizarre... my wife insists on monsters with penises. I think I should be frightened. :) -Les
tonymouse posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 7:09 PM
Perhaps you need a furry suit and a basket of goodies ;) or maybe you already have a basket of goodies. I am guessing, Rebekah would be the one who knows for sure. LOL
sixus1 posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 8:50 PM
Aaaaack! I can't believe you talking about his basket of goodies....so wrong...so wrong....if you only knew wink As far as a fur suit....good god...he doesn't need it...he gets furrier every day. :) Hey, I try to get him to 'Equip' everything...."Hey, great monster honey, where is its dong?" "Nice figure, did you put a penis on it?" "Wow, cool dune buggy figure....does it have a 'Big Gun' on it?? "

On behalf of all anatomically correct/complete Poser male character/models: THANK YOU Rebekah!
sixus1 posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 10:41 PM
Ok, Ok... I get the point.... dong-ed critters... (In my best presidential speech tone) You all have my solemn vow that from this day forth, all Sixus1 Critters that are even remotely male in disposition will posses healthy members! (hhhuh huh... he said member!) wait... what's that? Is that the almighty Butthead I hear calling? All this talk of dongs, shlongs, penises and members is urging me to take break for a marathon of Beavis and Butthead followed up by some Jay and Silent Bob. :)

Les/Rebekah: Minotaur v2.0 (hint, hint!) ;-p (pretty please?)
sixus1 posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 11:04 PM
Are you hinting that you want us to finish and release it or hinting that you want it released with truly bullish endowments? :) -Les
Arendar posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 11:19 PM
Les at #31: That would BOTH be great also! But what I meant at #30 was that, just as with your "werewolf line", you might want to do a new version of the Minotaur in similar vein with the Garou, e.g. lower poly mesh, smoother musculature, enhanced realism, "anatomically complete", etc. :-D
sixus1 posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 11:22 PM
Actually, Minotaur v2.0 has already been modeled and rigged and is awaiting morphs and a new set of UV coordinates. He is, also, quite well endowed. :)
Arendar posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 11:25 PM
Woo hoo! Thank you! Am really getting excited now! Kindly post preview pics of the new Minotaur model when available! 8-D
sixus1 posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 11:56 PM
Actually, a few pics of it have leaked into a thread or two at our site, but I'm not really ready to toss anything out over here just yet. I'd give it a week or two perhaps... hopefully I can find some time to get that bugger rolling!

Missed out on this thread until I ran across it just now. I like this guy more than the old werewolf. He's tougher looking, easier to handle, and just badass. And yes, playing with....er...morphing a digital dong was an odd experience :) Foxx
sixus1 posted Sun, 07 December 2003 at 2:53 AM
heheheh... you played with a man-dog winkie:) And for the rest of you man-dog-winkie lovers who perhaps are awaiting this fine cross-species specimen to arrive at rendo, well, a tester has yet to be assigned. Hopefully some movement will come on that end of things soon, though if you just can't wait to play with a winkie weilding werewolf, he is avaialable now thorugh our site. :) Wow, this has been a very amusing thread. :) -Les
