Subject: Question regarding: creating a texture set

MGDesign ( ) posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 6:29 AM · edited Mon, 04 November 2024 at 9:10 AM

Hi does the first time post on forum dance
I have the following question:
I am making my first texture set for eyes (can be used on V3 and black eyes) and I have a very stupid question what you have to do, I mean, do you have to contact the maker of the base (like for example black eyes) or can you launch the product simply when finished (and tested lol)?
I am still in the middle of progress, but I really would like to know.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated :)

do you have to contact the maker of the base (like for example black eyes) or can you launch the product simply when finished (and tested lol)? It depends on what you mean. If you made the product yourself but it is used for someone else's product, such as eye textures for "black eyes" then no, you don't have to contact the original creator. If you took an item and modified it, (recolored the eye textures that came with "black eyes", for example) then you must get permission to redistribute the modified file, whether you sell it or give it away. (And this applies to free products as well as commercial ones.) IMO, if you're selling something that is based on a freebie, it's polite to give the freebie creator a copy of your set, but it's not required. If this isn't clear enough, please let me know. Cres
