While waiting for the start of DAZ STUDIO Alpha-Mania, I decided to do some Toon-Babe pipe smoking and come up with some interesting new Toon-Babe scenerios: 1. Kim Goosseens realizes his character is very popular in the Poser world and strikes an EXCLUSIVE deal with RENDEROSITY for an "Official Kim Goosseen's The Girl" character release. REN becomes the OFFICIAL site and sets up a "THE GIRL FORUM" (heh!- talk about heck of a theme) and Kim Goosseens does EXCLUSIVE online appearances and interviews. 2. DAZ Delays DAZ STUDIO Alpha and diverts time and money to aquiring OFFICIAL rights from Kim Goosseen's for the same purpose. 3. Neither happens, and Kim Goosseen's sues EVERYONE he thinks is infringing his creation, and sets up his own OFFICIAL website - like Neftis has. 4. Kim Goosseen's DOES NOTHING, and a dozen more Lightwave modelers do MORE "The Girl" look-a-likes, each with their own set of clothes and geometries. Because they can't compete with the BIG GUYS, they start GIVING IT AWAY! 5. I have even more scenerios- but anyone like to add any predictions or ?

All I know is that 'The Girl' looks SOOO much better to me than all the 'others'. The textureing looks much better, the breasts actually look like ummm breasts not a bad plastic surgery job. probably my main complaint about all the others and their chests, I've played, spun dials, even tryed magnets and I can just never get them to look like 'the girl' and her fine figure. Goosseen has said several times that there are no plans to release her in any form, and that there are other things that are being worked on, 'the girl' is old news now.

I don't think we have seen the end of this story yet. I really doubt he ever considered what type of reaction he might get with a Poser version of "The Girl". If he has finished his other big project, or has already developed another new character, that doesn't mean he might not release a Poser version. It comes down to- Money? (Maybe Not) But why does he work at a job if money is NOT a consideration? He wanted to put up his own website, but apparently TIME or MONEY was preventing him from doing so. ARTISTIC CONTROL? - maybe THIS is what he wants for his character. He expressed in his interview that he didn't want "The Girl" being used in Porno, yet he DID want to do some type of "Erotic" theme with her. How can you make a totally HOT SEXY LITTLE BABE and continously show her from every angle WITHOUT CLOTHES, and NOT THINK she is going to inspire people's Porno Ideas? Maybe what he wants is it to be HIS VERSION of "Erotic" Porno- and that will be the angle on this that he wants. No- THIS is NOT over at all, I think. But obviously the ball is in his court right now. I would find it hard to believe that a commercial artist-modeler who NEEDS to WORK wouldn't want to take another step with the reaction this has already generated all over the 3D Modeling Community.

I think when he is ready Kim will do what he feels is best or an offer that is best for him, he will consider. Until then, I will enjoy these other models that all have worked hard on. Sharen

The market is oversaturated with these toongirls. There are 10 or 12 at last count. We keep seeing the "next big thing" surfacing every month, then it fades away or even becomes an object of ridicule in some cases. I would advise the creator to think twice before releasing yet another toon girl, since dumping it on the Poser community might not be the best deal, money-wise.

Too many toonish characters? Take a look at what just popped up at DAZ.

"4. Kim Goosseen's DOES NOTHING, and a dozen more Lightwave modelers do MORE "The Girl" look-a-likes, each with their own set of clothes and geometries. Well you pretty much just virtually punched Dark Whisper in his face with that one and even slapped the "BIG GUYS" at the same time. I haven't seen anything this cynical and insulting in a very long time. I won't be replying to any angry reply you have to this comment of mine.

Veritas777 posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 5:59 PM

I'm not angry about anything. I'm just listing options that other forums have already been discussing reguarding this. It's a lot bigger issue among professional 3D modelers than you might think.

Shazam! - No indorsement- just providing a link to what iamonk was referring to at DAZ. While I'm not out to own every toon-babe that might be appearing in the next 10, 30 or 90 days, I think some people are just kidding themselves if they think there are "too many" new toon babes. People will make whatever people want to buy. It could prove that TOON-BABES will become the hottest item in 2004, and sell more MESH than M3 and V3. We may just be seeing the Tip of the Toon-Babe Iceberg!

iamonk posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 6:23 PM

I just hope that by having so many options, a lack of morphs may become an issue. I really like the look of Sarah, didn't like the cutesy look of Koshini, the Neftoon girl is cerainly hot. This recent craze is worrying me that my money will be spread too thin amongst them. Which one is gonna turn out to be the Queen of the Toonish? Hopefully Sarah since she was free, I'll buy add-ons for a model I can try out first. I'm sure most would. We just need to see the add-ons. So keep 'em coming.

Gossens works in pro film studios he has made it clear he wants nothing to with poser or have his baby used in "pornographic renders" (his words) he did not invent this type of character and as we see many talented modelors have filled the void. so forget his 3D MAX model .

Yes, keep 'em coming! Since I don't do toon, I have no trouble resisting temptation when it comes to toon girls. Pity my poor bank account when it comes to the new Steph, though. I'm half hoping no one makes anything for her. At least until well after Christmas. :-)

JoeyAristophanes posted Wed, 03 December 2003 at 8:08 PM

have his baby used in "pornographic renders" LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please! We've all seen the renders of this chick. Is he gonna seriously tell me they're not even the slightest bit pornographic?

kayarnad posted Thu, 04 December 2003 at 12:46 AM

dudes, how can you keep complaining "there are too many toon babes"??? I think there too many "buxom realisitic looking babes" already, it was about time for a change... come one, after V3 and Stephanoie, and thanks to awesome morph packages like wyrmmaster's (morph god!), you can pretty much do everything babe-wise with a realistic female 3d model. I welcome all figures though, toon-like or realistic, the more the merrier... actually, i ahd so much of vicky and steph, that i started looking back to posette (p4 woman) and man, does she have morphs that sometimes shadow even vicky!! Yamato and Kozaburo did AMAZING things with the P4 model, and some people even created the new Eve, which is the closest thing I can find to a "wyrmmastered" posette... I always complained about her eyelashes looking like fly legs, but they even developed an eyelash prop that's awesome... and most of their morphs make posette look even more toonish than Sara or Alexa. I'm into character creation, so, the more chances I have at morphing and modifying stuff, the better. Plus, hey, no one is gunpointing you to download Sara or purchase Alexa... if you don't like toon gals, just avoid them! avoid all toon gals posts and galleries and that's all! I can assure you that forums, posts and galleries about realistic 3d babes are 10 times more extensive than the ones for toonish gals. those were my 4 cents... make that 3 1/2

kayarnad posted Thu, 04 December 2003 at 12:48 AM

sorry sorry sorry... I meant to say "and some people even created the LatexaV2, which is the closest thing I can find to a "wyrmmastered" posette... " I got confused between the new eve and latexavic... my bad.

"Please! We've all seen the renders of this chick. Is he gonna seriously tell me they're not even the slightest bit pornographic?" Pornographic? A render of a nude model is in no way pornographic - even my 10 year old daughter has seen all of the images that he has posted of The Girl.

elgyfu posted Thu, 04 December 2003 at 2:31 AM

Too many? The more the merrier - you don't have to buy what you don't like! Personally I adore Koshini and the Anime Doll, have not yet warmed to Sara and really don't like the Neftis doll. That is not to say that I will not change my mind completely if I see a render which shows her in a different light. Each to their own - and keep the models rolling guys, when no one is buying that is when you stop!

Caly posted Thu, 04 December 2003 at 10:52 AM

I haven't seen any pornographic images of her either. Just nude studies. Now, if she had been masturbating or something that's a different story. I like Koshini, Anime Doll, AND NefToon and company. Sara has a sweet face. :)

no model can look TOO much like "The Girl" in my opinion. Best wishes.

kobaltkween posted Thu, 04 December 2003 at 1:23 PM

actually, i emailed kim about this in august when it first came up (i figured it couldn't hurt to ask), stating the interest and hubub, and i can't remember the particulars but the answer was a polite "no" to a poser version or (i think, but my memory could be wrong) any release. but one could dream.

soulhuntre posted Fri, 05 December 2003 at 10:59 PM

It's a nice dream, but it isn't going to happen. I am waiting for someone to do a Toon chick that comes anywhere near "The Girl" in terms of shape - the current crop is cute and have their own uses.... but they aren't in the same league.

AlleyKatArt posted Sat, 06 December 2003 at 2:13 PM

Sara has the Girl's face pretty close. The Neftoon Gal has the body pretty close, as does the Anime Doll. If I could get Sara's head on MayaDoll's body, I'd be a happy widdle poser artist.
