"It's a bunch of those Earth sea-police that gave us trouble last time when someone sent them after us thinking we were divers. There was a time when divers were left alone around here, and so were we if people thought we were divers. A blast from my ship's plasma cannon over their heads saw them off."

The big ball in the console shows a 3D view of the radar etc echoes round the ship.

looks good, though is there any texture to the ship? I'm in the US, and I don't think this ever aired here (niether did Blake's 7, our loss..:|
btw, I think there's a 'supercar' model out there that can be downloaded (from the show, I seem to remember), it's in my linklist in 3d links.

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

The Gerry Anderson UFO series is well known in USA. See the email group at this link.

oh..well, what I meant is I don't think it's actually been broadcast here, though I could be wrong on that too (must be my bad day..;) It's a good model, look forward to more..

It looks very good.

Pakled, Blake's 7 used to air on PBS here in Portland, Oregon. I've seen all of the episodes. Great series. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the Gerry Anderson things were shown way back in the 50's or early 60's. I seem to remember them as a kid. I think that style was called "puppetoons." Melanie

It was "supermarionation". UFO was made around 1970 and was live-action.

xantor posted Sun, 07 December 2003 at 11:16 AM

Was UFO the one with the "boxey tanks" in it? They were more like armoured trucks.

evr posted Sun, 07 December 2003 at 10:54 PM

Yep, that's the one - though they were tracked armored trucks. Many moons ago I had die-cast metal models of the SHADO ground vehicle and the interceptors based on the moon. I haven't seen the series broadcast anywhere lately. I thought I saw DVD's for sale from A&E, but they were expensive.

The "boxey tanks" were called Mobiles. SHADO ran them. SHADO was a secret Earth organization that combatted the UFO''s.

I remember now :)

evr - like the one on the left?

evr posted Mon, 08 December 2003 at 10:29 AM

Those were the ones. Man I loved those things. I don't know what happened to mine. I lost track of them somewhere along the line - moved one time too many I guess. Thanks for the picture.
