Im getting ready to dive into the M2/M3 world....at last

What I would like to do is:
Buy M2 and the M3 Base (M1-M2 upgrade)

Could you tell me if this will give me both the full M2 and the full M3?
I would like M2 so I can use all the items I have for P4 and M3 for the M3 items.
Or will the upgrade just give me the full M3?

I have spent over a hour at DAZ trying to figure this out but Im still not sure it will give me what I need.
