Greetings! I was rummaging around in the Backroom, and decided to see what Terragen is all about, since I see it referred to occasionally in this forum. It does not appear to actually export textured terrains, but maybe I'm wrong. If not, what uses has anyone found for it, in conjunction with Vue? Thanks, Norm

I don't know for others, Norm, but since years I never were able to import a Terragen terrain into Vue. :-)Guitta

Terragen does create some great terrains. Unfortunately, they are in .ter file format which you cannot import into Vue. But, there is a freeware program out there called TerraPainter (http://go.to/ph) which will open .ter files, let you modify them and then save them as .bmp files for use with Vue. I've used it from time to time and had good results. -Lin

I use similar method like Lingrif. Terragen + F.E.O. plugin (FEO =For export only). With this plugin you can export Terragen terrain as bmp height map. Terragen itself can export terrains as lightwave .lwo objects. They can be used in Vue dEsprit, but its too many polygons and you cant use standard Vue tools for terrain editing. Btw, I wrote an article about that for Renderosity magazine (issue 6 I guess)
