hi. i have a new problem ;). i render a scene but no render a shadow of character in the floor. why? i put in the render options "cast shadow". i see the shadow in the display mode but in render mode no . please help me. sorry for my english. merry chrismas.

Hi K Have you put a floor in your scene use a square prop primitive scale it to the size you want, put it on the floor, put some texture on it and try that!

Also, in the Heirarchy Window, if you are using the ground, check to be sure that there is an "eye" symbol next to ground.

Most importantly, make sure that the lights you have on are pointing where you want and that at least some of them are set to cast shadows.. also like it has been said if you want shadows on the ground you will have to use a floor prop. But the most important thing is to check the properties of your lights making sure cast shadow is checked, you can also change the strength and cripness of the shadow. Creating good lighting and shadows is an art all to itself, just practise and you'll get there :) -SimderZ- xXx

oh and, the shadow that you see in the display mode is NOT how the actual shadows will render, is mainly a guide so u can see where the floor is for correct positioning. I usually turn the display shadows of by clicking on the buttons usually on the right of the display window.
