That wasn't too much fun actually, I got a 404 error. Tried stripping out the Excite data and still got a 404.

Odd. I cut it right out of the browser... If you go here: http://www.excite.co.jp/world/url Paste in the normal url, select the right-hand option button, then click the button. The translator will handle most pages.

I have the first address but I keep getting a "Page can not be displayed" message, and the other two plain just don't work.

I did what you said, but infact it wasn't fun and did not make any difference. It was actually worse because some letters or words would be translated, but for the most part most of the page was not. Plus you have that Excite banner link at the top of the web page. I would recommend the actual web url as mentioned earlier: http://www.jet.ne.jp/~m-jacky/main.htm
