Just a thought to make life less stressful. I was wondering if 'Smilies' in the forums would be a nice idea. I have recently aquired a new e mail accessory that can add all sorts of smilies, that I feel helps me to communicate in a much more friendly and positive way to folk I cannot see face to face. I think that smilies could help to avoid misunderstandings. Personally I have trouble with finding the right words and have frequently got into difficulties with someone I don't know, and who doesn't know me. A pleasant smile can make a lot of difference. I know that e mail shorthand already exists, but I find it visually very confusing. Smilies are much clearer. I expect they wouldn't be over used, but would be available if they would help. Particularly for those who don't speak much English. So, how about it Renderosity members, does the idea of smilies sound helpful or unhelpful?

You might what to check out Kixum's emoticons for the time being. This isn't the answer to your question, but they are fun to insert now and again.

Though I don't think it necessarily eliminates misunderstandings, but it can't hurt to try.

We used to have them. For some reason they did away with them.
