Hey modeling friends. Do any of you have a gopher model? I need one for a project. Thanks in advance. nomadgraphics@usa.net

"Uh,but wouldnt we get in trouble if we shoot all the golfers?" "GOPHERS, you idiot!...not GOLFERS!" "Oh, we can do that....sure...." (Caddyshack) Scarab <-contributing nothing....but could go-fer a gopher...

heyas; looks like a case of the old 'you should try to morph the poser cat into one using the 9lives morphs.' (they're at www.capsces.com.)

Bloodsong, would you be willing to create this gopher yourself? If so contact me at nomadgraphics@usa.net. It needs to be in poser format and fully animatable. And thank you for your warm reply. Nomad

Nomad....dont get bent out of shape when people here have fun with a thread... it means we are at least interested enought to read your thread and respond. If we cant help you or answer a question, at least we can try to make you chuckle..... Lighten up dude.... Scarab <-who also would like to see a gopher....and personally thinks you ought to give it a try yourself with the morphing cat...that's how one learns to become adept.

umm... i kinda have a full list, nomad. you might contact debra; she made a squirrel, and might be able to tweak that mesh into a nice gopher for you, for the right price. debra has goods at bbay.com and vistainternetproducts.com (i forget which one has the squirrel). or, hey, scarab doesn't look like he's doing anything, i bet he'll try to make the cat into one for ya ;) (scarab, ya troublemaker! :) )

Lighten up indeed. :-)

Tee hee! Scarab<-(just 238 pounds of cute coyness) PS:....Squirrel?....there's a squirrel loose?...that might explain what happened to Geep!

I am willing to pay for the gopher project. Thank you Bloodsong for your advice. This is for a client. As for morphing the animal myself, I don't think I can do this. I don't have the talents you gentlemen have. I will check with Deborah as you said. I don't know if Zygote has one ready made or maybe another digital 3D modeler? I have only a few weeks to complete the project. I guess I need to lighten up eh?

Yes...actually you should, nomad....dont panic! You should go and look at the download bloodsong directed you to. All the morphs are already made....all you have to do is tweak them ("shorten snout, shorten tail...da da da....)until the animal looks much like you had in mind. Quite frankly it is the only possible way of getting a gopher in the next few days so you can work with it. Certainly it would take weeks to start a new animal mesh from scratch and have the joints etc. work...there are also some great animal textures for the capsces morphcat to make it look like a raccoon, rabbit, whatever and probably one of them would be gopher enough to work. I think they are in free stuff, but if I can come up with a more direct url I will send it along.....Now scoot!...go look at the morph cat...! good luck... Mighty Morphin' ScarabRanger

heyas; the problem with the 9lives cat to gopher route... it would take some deal of post-production retouching to get it exactly right. you'd have to rescale the legs down an awful lot, and they get all kinds of kinks in them when you pose them thus. you might try www.dedicateddigital.com; they have a lot of odd animals, but don't know if they are selling individual ones or not. never seen one at zygote. the squirrel might pass, if you take off its tail... good luck, dude. :)

hmmmm youre right, though dedicated digitals stuff also is kind of "squirrely" with the joints, even without tweeking around. I was kinda thinking he might start with the raccoon and just diminish tail and shorten the forelimbs. Depending upon what the project is, most gopher scenes have the little critter just sitting in a hole prairie dog style, in which case the thing could have a peacocks tale for all that matter...."form follows function" I have a panda bear and polar bear cub from dedicated digital, but I dont know if I could forward them legally...the cub would not be a bad start for a gopher I bet. But it doesnt have the built in morphing capability and I'm willing to bet I am worse at morph making than nomad is.... Scarab <-or to quote the Monty Python "Parrot Sketch", "'Ow 'bout a nice goldfish, then?"
