I tried some experiments with depth-of-field and can't get it to work at all. First of all, in order to get the parameters for it, you have to add a new camera. When you do, you'll see all the camera parameters, including focal length and DOF. I set a focal length of 500mm and the default DOF of 360. I'm a photographer so I know damn well what 500mm should do, What 360 means is beyond me. I then tried it at 500mm and DOF 1 - nada. Exactly the same as the first render. Render settings were custom size, depth-of-field checked and Open GL unchecked. (I already tried it with Open GL and saw no difference). Here's the first pic - Left 500mm DOF 360 / Right 500mm DOF 1 BTW - The white metal is *supposed* to be chrome, but I can't get the reflection maps to work in DS. mac
Here's another. Left - a similar scene in poser / Right - the figure from a distance mac
A few more details. Lighting was 1 'distant' light. The distance between the near corner of the railing and the seat behind it would be around 8 or 9 feet in poser. I dunno if DS should show DOF with this setup, but I DO know that a real camera would. If anyone can clarify this, I'm all ears. mac
