I modeled a caparison last night for a holiday render (must keep those unicorns warm), and was rather pleased at how the meshwork and UV-mapping turned out.
After I've finished working on the scene, I could post this in Free Stuff as both a P4 conformer and P5 dynamic-cloth prop, fitted for the Poser horse, DAZ Charger, and bloodsong's Wee Horsies.
I have better textures in mind than what's shown above; I was merely curious to see how it'd look with a quilted material.

Very nice LD. Tell me the mesh is single sided and can be transmapped for dagging? (fancy medeival cutwork edges for y'all who don't speak Olde English)

Centaurs would like it too but could you tighten up the neckline a bit real horse blankets have the opening closed right up to the neck, like a shirt collar :-)
Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.

Wow, now that I have seen it before and behind I say I Like It!!

Oh yes, I had transmapping in mind when I built this. The version I'm using in my render has transmapped fringe.
Here's what the UVs look like (see attached pic).
Charlie_Tuna:
Yes, the neckline needs some work. The dynamic-cloth version tends to slip a bit during animations.
Any particular centaur for which you'd like it adapted? I have DAZ's (thank you Platinum Club!), Kathy Predmore's, pdblake's, bomdropr's, nerd's, and hawktoey's.
xantor posted Sun, 28 December 2003 at 6:55 PM
If you make the neckline a constrained group it should work better.
Little_Dragon posted Sun, 28 December 2003 at 7:33 PM
Planning to.
Charlie_Tuna posted Sun, 28 December 2003 at 10:01 PM
I got the one from Daz and bomdropr's but instead of scaleing Vicky up to 120% to get her to fit the horse I dropped the horse to 90% and then I don't need to resize any clothes or hair to fit :-) Even have the old P4 Centaurus, which could be used as a young filly :-)
Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.
