Well, everyone was a winner in this one...in fact lol,I need to send the link to this thread to everyone so they know what to do.iLona gave every entrant a copy of her Birds of Prey so that there would be no losers...its Christmas and she was extremely generous in going way above what I requested of her.Lucie is also giving her Neige brushes to the top ten winners and RNKaren includes a set of make up brushes for her sponsored items;) So,now I'm listing the prizes so that people checking the link will know what to collect and who to collect from. The judges have all been informed of who wins what so please take note...and please lol,I hope the winners of Birds of Prey will take it a bit easy on her server and not collect all at one time;P Top Prize Pure Fantasy by Danie & Marforno//Tess by Lucie//Batsy by iLona//Trinity by RNKarenER//Faery Tales by A~//Lady Fiona by Blazerwiccan and Lei Lana by Speed77 2nd Prize Lara's Mansion by Danie & Marforno//Garen Temple2 by Richabri//Dark Essence by Blazerwiccan//Forsaken by iLona//Dina by RNKarenER and 10A's For V3 by A~ 3rd Prize Mystic Places & Poses4 by Danie & Morforno//Mediterranean Courtyard by Richabri//Deandra by Islandgirl//Bianca by iLona and Expressions for V3 by A~ 4th Prize Tower Extravaganza2 by Danie & Marforno//Ultimate Fire by Romanceworks//Gothic Room by Richabri//Imzy by iLona and 10J's by A~ Honorary Winners claim Evelyn by Blazerwiccan goes to Gibson Minerva Valda by Blazerwiccan goes to Laska Tower Extravaganza1 by Danie & Marforno goes to Rhiafaery Holly by RNKarenER goes to Crystal Orchard Kawana by iLona goes to Istnlmbo75 Fauna by iLona goes to gmoorehouse Hope this clarifys things. Please contact the merchant sponsors themselves. You may contact me if you have problems, butbased on when you contact them it could take a day or so for them to reply being that its the holidays. Thanks so much for entering everyone...thanks to the great sponsors...and thanks to the judges who made a tough decision on some terrific works of art;)

This one may take just a bit to set up because there are 42 copys and we don't want to crash the sponsors site.Ok...what you need to do is contact the merchant iLona, let her know you've recieved notice of your win and she'll reply to your IM when the server link is set up for downloads if it isn't already. With the holidays I hope you're patient, but these are all reputable merchants and I don't foresee any problems.

Congratulations to all the winners there were so many great images that it must have been hard work to pick the winners. I din't get into the top winners but I really had fun in this contest and I'm really happy that I entered. 8) Catlin

mondoxjake posted Tue, 30 December 2003 at 7:30 PM

Congratulations on a very successful contest, I beleive this will be the forerunner of many similar ones to come from other sources. Unbiased judging, and everyone wins...no losers. I believe that Laska and catlin_mc's comments summed up the contest in a nutshell: Everyone had an equal chance of winning and it was fun!

Armorbeast posted Tue, 30 December 2003 at 8:07 PM

Well,I did everything possible to keep this one fair as we blocked the use of name tags on images,no one knew who the artists were or the judges (^one of the judges above folks MJ^)...there were eight judges with different tastes in art and a point system that offered every artist a fair chance. In a community vote, the fatal flaw tends to be that artists will begin asking people they know to vote for them...for newbies this is what is referred to as trolling.Favoritism is also a problem as if voters/judges recognise an artist, they may be more inclined to vote for that person based on who they are rather than the work they've created.I set this contest up sort of as a test run for a new way of handling contests fairly. Contests should be fun for everyone as even when you lose you should at least be content that you lost fairly so you can deal with it...everyone put a lot of hard work into their images and I for one respect that! So,when I decided to do this one I wanted to make sure that everyone would be treated as fairly as possible and that everyone would at least get a little something for entering to show appreciation for their hard work. In this one,I specifically tried to find some sponsors that don't normally sponsor contests...for some its completely new and they were thrilled to participate. The key thing for them is that the contest be fair, there are no bitter feelings and their support is truly appreciated...no one wants to support a contest if its not going to be fair and a lot of bitterness follows. In closing,if any of you are thinking of starting a contest and want some advice or a judge...just send me an IM and I'll help anyway I can.Next up is trying to figure out how to make the community vote more fair-that's a hard one lol. Thanks again to all 42 entrants, your submissions were awesome and it was extremely difficult to judge I assure you;)

mondoxjake posted Tue, 30 December 2003 at 9:31 PM

As one of the judges, I can honestly say it was hard as all of the art was right on target with the theme and well executed. I am thrilled to see some new names in the winners/honorary lists that are unknown to me up to this point. I frequent most of the online galleries and will be watching for future works of these people. One thing I overlooked mentioning in my previous post, was the prize collection put up for this contest...amazing stuff. The prize posters need a round of applause and appreciation for donating such an array of great items.

RNKarenER posted Wed, 31 December 2003 at 12:05 AM

I agree with mondoxjake, I was also a judge, and you all did very well!!!! I have sent out the top prizes and a few of the make-up brushes, Since I dont know who you all are... please send me a message and i will send the brushes on to you!!! Congrats to everyone!!

I've been away from the computer for a few days. This was my first contest and I see I was in the six honarary winners list. Great surprise! Thanks and congratulations to all the winners and entrants. Well, I'm new to this,so what do I need to do now as far as receiving prizes?

KyraKyana posted Wed, 31 December 2003 at 10:02 AM

Thank you very much. This is the second contest I've entered since discovering Renderosity. Our Christmas Eve made an unfortunate path to a very sad end to the year 2003. Our family dog died that night, so in relation to the contest and the theme of "loss"..... the kids and I lost an important family member. She was more than only a pet; she was very important and special to us all. Again, I thank you for your votes and for the third place win. Congratulations to all the winners and all those who entered. We were all winners as it should be. Great contest!

Armorbeast posted Wed, 31 December 2003 at 1:37 PM

gmoorehouse...what you'll need to do is contact iLona about your prize-she's been setting things up this morning/afternoon and should be ready for you.Just punch her name into the member search or find her on my favorites list for a quicker link to her. Kyra...losing a friend on Christmas is indeed rough and for some reason it seems like a lot of people I know have suffered this season. But we carry on and we have our memorys...sounds like this fella was a dear friend indeed and I've known similar loss a few years ago when my beloved kitty Sissy died from cancer after having her in my life for around 8years.So I for one understand the loss of a friend.

So sorry to hear of your loss Kyra, I too lost one of my cats a couple of years ago, just before christmas, and I miss him still. I know how you feel but as Armorbeast said you have your memories and by the sounds of it they are good memories to have. Wishing you all the best in this new year and I hope that soon your grief is replaced by happiness. 8) Catlin
