So, over the Christams holidays, I am at my local "Fry's" (giant electronics/computer store). I see the redesigned Bryce 5 package sitting on the shelf, so I pick it up and take a look... ...awfully light box. Does a printed manual come with Bryce 5 anymore? Does the 2nd, "content" CD come with it? The box itself came with no specs on what is inside the box. Does anyone own the newly designed Bryce 5? I do like Clay's new scene on the box. AgentSmith

It was part of Corel's method of bringing the price down to $75. But then they stopped promoting it. www.shonner.com

I don't know whose it is, but 500 kB for the index page and nothing to show for that...

Could this be a pirate copy AS was looking at?

I bought the new version from Amazon. It has one CD. The manual is about the size of Cliff's Notes. For Windows 2000 or XP.

I bought the new version about 3 months ago. (129,00$ Canadian) The manual is a tutorial with 64 pages only and there is only one CD. The manual is on the CD and is in pdf format. Michel

I think we should suggest that any newbies head right back to Amazon and get Susan's book.
Could be worse, could be raining.

I just got it for Christmas, worth cdn$109 at Best Buy. It may only have 1 CD and a "Coles Notes" manual, but I am happy with it as long as it opens DEM's, and has a Heightfield Editor that can copy and paste grayscale maps. more about that later.

It's not like they changed the program, it's the same old Bryce 5, if i'm not mistaken. I, too, got it for christmas, as i seem to have severely misplaced my copy of the old bryce 5 and got a new 40 gig hard-drive. I set it up as my main, upgraded to windows XP, and set my old 10 gig up as a slave. Whee, i now have a Western Digital hard-drive, 7200 RPM. My 10 gig is just a Seagate Barracuda.

Well, I can see where the price would come down to $75 with no printed manual, that's the most expensive part of the box for them. But, they should include a promo or coupon for Susan's book. AS
