OK diane, I used your suggestion. Pic 1 is with the 'Dal' refl map at 550x550 and my own transmap on the formal dress top with hip and thighs out, and the mini below. No textures at all. As you can see it's much too metallic. Pic 2 is the same deal, with a fine square-net map as a bump, stretched to 500x750 on the mini and 1000x1500 on the formal. The squared look is what I want, but it's still too big on the formal (and the bump's already 6meg), so I have to find a finer net to use. Also I need to experiment, to try and get somewhere in between the two. Still working on it, but the direction's there. Will post it whenever I can (still have to transmap the back).
