Not sure this is the place. But since it is a Poser item for sale, since it is another example of some excellent modeling and texturing for Poser (Victoria), I just had to post it here (move this to the Showcase if you think it necessary). If the Baron's work is your style, how can you not plop down $5 for this?
Just so everyone knows...I am getting nothing for this "promo". I don't really even know him except to thank him for his freebies (and buy some of his other stuff). In fact, I hope I'm doing him no harm.
But, I just hadta say...WHAT A PRICE!

Baron Vlad Harkonnen's products are among the best to be found anywhere. HIGHLY recommended.

Yep, it's usually like getting 2 or 3 Platinum Club items from DAZ for a (total) lessor price. The PC would have divided them up into 3 parcels (1 for the item, and 2 more for different texture packs). Surprised DAZ hasn't offered him a contract...then again, some of his work might be a tad more exotic than what they wish to sponsor. (not saying that in a mean way)

Oh, MM, I did the same thing. With all the sales going on lately, it's been hard. I'm hoping for a R'City 10% coupon 'cause I desparetly need it. So, I hope and wait.

BVH is a gem among merchants. He puts so much care into his outfits. They render beautifully, and are invariably erotic, even the more modest ones. I hope that his remarkably low prices bring him lots of biz, he certainly deserves it. While we're praising great deals, please let me recommend that you check out the link in this post, to Danie and Marforno's new "Time Prisoners" package. It's amazing. You get lots of imaginative modular set pieces, a beautiful texture for V3, too much to list here (plus some extra freebies which you'll receive links to after your purchase.) There's another related freebie at the Web page referenced on the product page. A heck of a lot of bang for your buck. Thanks for the link, Chuck, I hadn't seen the new BVH outfit yet. Imagine if Arwen dressed like that in the LOTR movies! :-)wheatpenny posted Thu, 01 January 2004 at 3:50 PM Site Admin
A few days ago I saw a promotional pic in the gallery that said the Elf princess set was coming soon, and I thought then that this was the best one he'd come up with yet. I just can't believe that he sells all that high-quality stuff for only $5

Danie and Marforno have their own folder in my Poser directory. =P The quality of their products is amazing. They have a loyal customer in me. The Baron, not only is he one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet, his clothing rocks! I highly recommend his stuff to everyone. =)

Someone please tell me there's a coupon from Rosity that can be applied to this beauty! AAuugghh..I don't own a credit card and I have an ongoing two year old battle with Pay Pall over ordering the first copy of Renderosity Magazine so I don't use them! (Pay Pal says they disbursed the funds, Rosity says they never were paid, I lost the money {full price, not a discounted copy} and did without the magazine.)
wheatpenny posted Thu, 01 January 2004 at 4:53 PM Site Admin
AFAIK, all of Renderosity's coupons can be used for things like this. (if you can find a coupon that will let you take a $5 diucount on a $5 purchase, that is). If you live in the US you can get a prepaid credit card (no credit check, put anywhere from $20 to $500 on it and use it just like a regular credit card - but without running up a monthly bill)

Paypal's a nightmare, I had my account locked down for a year after something that was the result of their stupid policy (I nearly lost $2000 because they claimed they couldn't help me more than 30 days after the transaction, when the delay was due to the fact that the other party wouldn't return my calls, since they were trying to cheat me out of money.)
I have to agree that BVH's products are of top notch quality, but I've been noticing the last few releases were only for V2...? Since I don't really use V2 much at all anymore, I was kinda hoping for some V3 versions... ah well, I can be patient, they'd certainly be worth the wait.

Molly, I don't know that I'd purchase V3. What with having to purchase 3 different set-ups just to get one picture out of her, as well as needing Poser 5 to do her justice, I just can't afford her. I think there's been some astounding work done with, and for, her, but she's like the cheerleader is to the chess team: way out of their league.
Phantast posted Thu, 01 January 2004 at 6:23 PM
I suspect the pricing is shrewd. Who can resist such a bargain? 100 sales at $5 is better that 10 sales at $30. I've probably bought more stuff from BVH than any other merchant. PS I second xonocostle's remarks re "Time Prisoners".
Fashionably_Late posted Thu, 01 January 2004 at 7:05 PM
Cedarwolf, I completely understand the priciness of V3... although in my humble opinion, she really is worth the price if you have some extra spending cash at some point. :) It was a good deal for me as a Platinum Club member with the 30% off, otherwise I probably wouldn't have been able to afford her myself. ~ Molly
mondoxjake posted Thu, 01 January 2004 at 9:19 PM
Fashionably_Late at the great price this set is being offered I would be tempted to buy it and dink around with dials to see if I could get it to fit V3 or get a copy of LoRes V2.
Comparing gallery postings at various sites it seems to me there is still quite a ratio of V2 postings over V3, and since V2 and the old Stephanie have a lot of interchangeable stuff I think she is going to continue to be popular.
TheWanderer posted Fri, 02 January 2004 at 3:09 AM
Hi V3 comes with the ability to use V2 body at least thats what I'm banking on or I've just waisted $5 (no V2 per say apart from v3) Dave

After getting BVH's SWAT for free...I new I had to buy some of his stuff. I really like his morph or character of Cythnia 3 in Art Gallery but I did not see her for sale or free. Have a great new year and look forward to more of your great work.
pigfish9 posted Fri, 02 January 2004 at 2:48 PM
If you have "The Tailor", you can convert V2 clothing into V3. I do this often. I also convert my texture maps back and forth between V2 and V3.

Erm....we get coupons and discounts? Like Daz? I've bought a TON of stuff from here and never seen a single dsicount coupon anywhere except regualr "sales". Nothing from R-osity itself. What am I missing here? (wouldn't it be nice if I had a few built up somewhere I just didn't know about?)
mondoxjake posted Fri, 02 January 2004 at 10:49 PM
Not sure how it comes about zai, I haven't bought much from Rosity in ages...but just yesterday I got a 10% off coupon in my email on a $30. purchase. I have never gotten a straight redmeption coupon in any given amount however.
Caly posted Sat, 03 January 2004 at 12:37 AM
Here it's always been x percent (usually 10%) off of a purchase of X price (usually $25-$50) or greater.
