I decided to try and do an animation yesterday. To my suprise, my computer keeps locking up about half way through, so I'm gussing I don't have enough ram or something. I have 128mb of Ram, which is nothing compared to some of the people here. So then I decided, hey if I can just set this to each frame as pic I can put it together in Premeire. Now my screen is filling up with "Render##" windows and will probably result in a lock up. Is there any way to get rid of these boxes?

Are you on a Mac or Pc? If on a Mac, you can try and increase you virtual memory. One I worked on, I shut everything except Poser down and increased the VM to 700mb. Check it out at http://go.postal.at/spanfarkles

i don't know but iu said iu have 128MB of ram... your problem is not the ram memory i have a network at home and the computer i use to render poser animations (i have a single pc only for render purpose as well one only for design) and it only has 96 of Ram and renders at very good speed is only a pentium II-300... check your software conf. if iu are a Mac user i think things may not be differents.....

What software are you rendering out of; doesn't sound like Poser to me. 128 mb will render in Lightwave with no problem. A lot depends on your system clock speed, and a lot depends on the software, and finally, it depends on what you're trying to render. If you're going for hi-res stuff with lot's of transparency and refraction then it's gonna take a long time. Your system may not have locked up, it just may be taking so long between instructions that everything stops, including the update to the system clock, etc. We used to have that problem on the old SGI's with Wavefront. They were still churning away, you just could tell they were churning away.

I have Bryce on a Mac and rendered my first animation today--I have only 96mb RAM and had no trouble...is your animation extremely complex? A lot of transparencies, maybe? Sounds like a PC-type error to me, actually--how much RAM do you have allotted to the program itself? Actually, after all this time since the original post, I sorta doubt we'll hear any answers...

Oh, and I also rendered my first Poser animation today with no problem. :P
