thanks to all who voted, and especially to vivian :-). i did even not check the votes. yes, all are winners, because the challenge itself brings new perspectives to us all. now let's compare how different we can make a magic light. the challenge for january is a "magic light", how ever you want to make it, it should shine with a magic glow that touches the soul in this dark time before the spring makes the life easier. :-)

tresamie posted Mon, 05 January 2004 at 4:55 PM

I love this idea! It should be quite a challenge, and fun to do. We need a little magic in the midst of winter.

Fractals will always amaze me!

dialyn posted Tue, 06 January 2004 at 10:45 PM

sophielerlei posted Thu, 08 January 2004 at 3:07 PM

it's not easy, but ericthegreat shows us that it's possible to let it shine :-). i look forward to see many lights shining here.

Dream entrance This one is already posted to my gallery. I don't know if that is allowed, or if it has to be a new one.

shadowdragonlord posted Fri, 09 January 2004 at 9:57 AM

I'm new to the challenge area, is it open to any applications? Could I, for example, use Bryce and Photoshop?

dialyn posted Fri, 09 January 2004 at 10:20 AM

You can use Bryce, certainly. This is the one challenge that is strictly theme based, so you can use one or more applications as you like. The emphasis is on creativity. :) and you can see this challenge is bringing out that in people of different disciplines. Good job by all! And I personally hope you enter a Bryce graphic...that would be great. :)

gunsan posted Fri, 09 January 2004 at 11:07 AM

Forgot to say that I work in PaintShopPro 7

dialyn posted Sat, 31 January 2004 at 3:37 PM

You were in the Paint Shop Pro forum when you saw it. tresamie and I and others post the challenge in various forums because it is open to all and all are welcome. If you were confused, I am at fault. And I apologize.

gammaRascal posted Sat, 31 January 2004 at 3:42 PM

i must admit i was a little confused myself... i didnt realise this was a 'voting' challenge... i thought we were just arbitrarily posting interestingly 'lit' images as per the 'magic light' topic... thats why i posted two pics ): stupid stupid stupid wanders off smaking forehead

dialyn posted Sat, 31 January 2004 at 3:46 PM

Not stupid. I'm glad you shared your talent. It has less to do with the votes than seeing what amazing things people can do with a them using different techniques. I guess maybe that's just me thinking that. Lately I've been wrong a lot around here.

shadowdragonlord posted Sat, 31 January 2004 at 7:12 PM

There is no wrong or right! I understood the challenge forum's rules and ideas just fine, but it's good for me to see what other people are making these days! This was fun...!

Congratulations to ALL who entered!! You works continue to impress and delight. It's always great to see the large number of unique images from a simple topic. Also great to see so many applications and techniques used. You're all winners!!
