Attached Link: Problems with PHI Editor

I create objects in MAX, set up new names of the single objects. Then I export them as .obj and load them in the PHI Editor. But I always get error messages like : "OBJECTNAME" does not exists in "FIELNAME" whats wrong ?

heyas; check for spaces in the group names, or odd characters like ! and such. poser doesn't like those. (that is, i am guessing that the phi-editor is importing the obj okay, but you get this message when you try to convert it with poser. not sure about any phi editor error messages. btw, which phi editor are you using? phibuild, phi-factory, or...???) :)

I got these porblmes even before using poser ! I changed the names to simple characters like "1" "2" or even let the name blank. is there more than one PHI-Edit ?

This may sound strange. But is you new .obj file exported from MAX located in a subfolder in the Poser->Geometries folder? Phi builder won't work unless the .obj is in that directory. ScottA

no, it's not in this folder

  1. create your obj in max 2. slice it too 3. export to OBJ format as you usually do IMPORTANT!!! 4. Open Poser 5. import obj file and immediately export using poser defaults 6. now you can open PHI and have all your names set

Sounds fine ! But what do you mean with "slice" ???

"slice" means cut it into pieces
