My new dress creation fits great in P5 and PPP but not in P4. I have no idea why I would act any differently in P4. Anyone have a clue? Thank you marty

If you made it in P5 then there may be a backwards compatability issue. P5 is just ProPack with Plugins so they will work together. P5 is supposed to be backwards compatible but you might have run into a bug. I am just guessing that you used the set up room. If you can add more details it would help. Need more info from you to answer your question. 1)What doesn't work 2) Show pic prefferably both in P4 and P5 3)Circle desired effect. Circle problem area. Poser 4 has a special rsr in the geometries folder for reference on shape. My only guess is that the figure you have in your P4 runtime is not the same as the figure on your other runtimes. Other than that there is no reason why they wouldn't conform the same....EXCEPT....... If you used the PPP setup room to make the clothing that is likely the problem. The setup room is not stable. The safest and most reliable what to make clothes is still to make a phi files manually in a text editor. So if you are using the setup room that is what is causeing it and as far as I know there is no fix.

Actually there is one last thing you can try. For clothes to conform properly they CANNOT be momorized in ANY pose other than absolute zero. 1)Zero CLothing 2) Zero HIP and Body 3)Memorize clothing figure and resave. If that doesnt work I don't know what to tell ya.

Check the figure for an active morph dial.

Sounds like you deleted the wrong rsr file and got the rsr for the thumbnail. The rsr in P4 you want is in the geometry folder where the object for the dress is stored - or wherever you have the object target call path listed in the cr2, generally it is something like runtime:geometries:insomniaworks:dress.obj In this folderP4 will add an rsr dress.rsr that is what you want to delete.
insomniaworks posted Fri, 09 January 2004 at 11:18 AM
First of all, I didn't know there were suposed to be rsr files in the geometry folder. Where does an rsr come from, how is it created. Second) I do not use Set up room during the building process. Outside of of using magnets to tweek shape and saving the finished product cr2 with ppp. Thats all ppp has to do with the process of building. I always do some hand editing on the cr2 after it is saved to change version number and materials, and a few other things. I always use another cr2, a clothing one or an original one to begin with. In the case of this dress, I needed to use the original AnimeDoll.cr2 because so many of the body groups were represented in this peice of clothing. Outside of modeling software, I also use UVMapPro, which I highly recomend buying, for laying out UVmap, setting up the materials, and grouping the geometry. I also use CR2Editor by John Stallings for some editing and also do some editing by hand. I will also try to resave the goemetry in P4 as PheonixRising sugested, I was thinking of that anyway if it came to that to see what would happen. Although, I am not sure if it will work because when it loads, it is of course at absolue zero alreay and Dress overlays the AnimeDoll perfectly. It is not until I ask the dress to conform that the first poke thrus show up in one of the arms. Then the poke thrus multiply with poses. Then that brings me back to the rsr files in the geometry file which are absent. Will this create them? Thank you marty

The rsr in the P4 geom folder is created by P4. I don't think that is your problem. Select the dress and click "Restore figure". If the dress changes shape or pose in anyway then that is your problem. See steps above.

On the menubar Edit>Restore>Figure or Shift+Ctrl+F hotkey for Windows OS. If it is loading right before conforming, try using the memorize figure command first, than conform the dress to the figure and see what happens. Edit>Memorize>Figure or Alt+Ctrl+F (for windows OS)

Okay Shadownet, I Restored the figure and no shape or pose changes occured. I then memorized figure as you descibed and conformed, same poke thrus were there in the arm. No changes at all Did I say already that I can upload this to my file locker and you can download it and look at it your self? thank you marty

I would be glad to look at it, but I do not have animedoll. Not up on all these anine figures, so I do not even know where to get it. Is this a free figure or a store item. I found Mayadoll at studioMaya.
insomniaworks posted Fri, 09 January 2004 at 12:03 PM
Yes, this works with Free MayaDoll also, actually it will look better on MayaDoll than AnimeDoll. Look for a Full Body Morph in the MiniDress called "MayaDollFit" that makes the minor changes to fit MayaDoll. I will IM you the location of the package. Thank you Shadownet marty

Okay, sounds good. I will go grab the MayaDoll and then take a look at your package.
