As a part of my work (developing an industrial machine interface with live video feeds from various locations) - I started developing my code with very basic USB "web cams". Well, my client gave me a budget to purchase whatever I needed, so I got a weird little device - a Micro Coolcam from Micro innovations. This little thing (about 5" x 1-1/4" x 3/4") does still pictures, small video caps, audio recording and "web cam" live video. (OK - it's all VERY LOW quality) - but it's turning out to be the ideal solution to carry around in my pocket and, when I run across a scene that may be worth returning to, shoot a cheesy shot and record a memo - enough to remind me of an opportunity!

This is a quick shot of my office in existing light - which is why the quality is actually much poorer than the camera can actually produce.

I dunno - a reminder device for $50 - I can make use of it!

Here's a shot taken with a Creative PC-Cam 350 - same sort of thing, but this one has a flash (or so they say - range must be about 3ft. or so - cause I actually got better results with an "existing light" shot - nowherre near as good as the Micro cam.

Maybe folks actually will find some use for the cell phone cameras....

I think a few folks already have - hence I know of a few Gyms where mobiles with camera's are totally banned...... (",) (And before you start, NO my phone doesn't have a camera....)

When I bought my cell phone they offered me one with a camera. I said no thank you because I have a good digital camera so I don't need one with my cell phone. Duh. LOL Jinx

Security Guards use them to take pictures of Shop Lifter Suspects ....then send the "Mug Shot" on to the next Mall...I have had a lot of problems being caught in the Act :[

This is from my new cell phone [NOT the company I work for!]. I'm having trouble understanding why anyone would bother with this, [NOT the opinion of my employer!].

If You had Stock Bonds in Wallmart....and this Feline Fiend was Shoplifting Kitty Litter, this Mug Shot would probably be enough to catch the Perpetrator. Theft by Shoplifting Cats is a Feliney! Stamp out this Crime NOW!!!!

"Shoplifting Cats is a Feliney!" Must remember this! He's NOT slimy. At least most times.
