Anyone know where I can find an old fashion hat pin? Thanks

Can you make one? A dance cane or cylinder prop can be scaled to the right proportions. Add a fancy top thingy if you wish or just use a sphere... parent it to the pin, export as a single object, and then reimport at your desired size. Some of the Japanese hair pieces at the Edogoyomi site have what look like hairsticks, which could be scaled down to hat pin size as well. Carolly

Why don't you post a picture of what you want? If it's a simple hat pin like this one, it would be easy to make, and someone would probably make it for you.

that's exactly what I need.I have tried in the past to make props but unfortunely I don't seem to have the knack for it. It like the old shop joke, no matter what I make it ends up being an ash try, just cut two grooves in it and you got an ash try...

LOL! I'm sure someone will make one for you. If not, I can probably do it, beginner though I am. I'll check this thread tomorrow, and if the resident experts haven't stepped in, I'll take a stab at it. ;-)

Do a net search for a free ware called "spatch"....it has a very very low learning curve but can produce simple props in dxf format which you can import into Poser. Cant be textured but still a usefull tool. Scarab

Load a ball prop, use the grouping tool to assign a new material to it called 'Ball'. Load a cylinder, assign a new material to it called 'Pin'. Scale the cylinder to 43%, yScale it to 3000%, yTran it to 0.080. Use a magnet to pull the top cylinder cap into a point. Export a Wavefront OBJ containing both props. Reimport the obj, apply a silver reflection map to the pin material and set the Reflective and Highlight color to white, Object and Ambient to Black, set whatever colour you like to the ball, rescale the prop to 3 or 4%, then save it to a props pallet, call it "HatPin".

I've got these and also one with a tear-drop shaped head. I can make them available easily enough.

lesbentley, I tried your mini tut and I used the grouping tool to assign a new material to it called 'Ball'and did the same for the cyclinder but when I import it back in, there is no separate materials for the pin and ball...
