pretty bold statement for someone still relatively new to Poser, but i had to get your attention somehow, and it's the attention of the Renderosity community that means the most here....i settled on Geocities for my site for the simple reason that i don't like big, bulky ad banners or pop-up windows....the drawback is the measly 14 MB storage limit.....the possible solution is this: setting up an iDrive, XDrive, or whatever for each section (props, textures, etc.) and directing visitors there to download the items they want while maintaining the Geocities site as the preview site. Pros: much more storage space, items can be downloaded from one area, just like at a regular site, a separate window or second browser can be opened to access iDrive and keep track of what you want and where it is, and i'll think of more later. Cons: the separate window thing is kind of a pain, downloading from one site is always a seemingly better thing, strikes one as inconvenient at first, and i know i'll think of more later. as far as site hosting goes, here's a brief list of who i know of and why i'd rather not use thier service: Xoom: constant server problems Tripod and Angelfire: pop-ups FNS: no files over 200KB, BIG banners Webjump: BIG banners Crosswinds: oh, for pete's sake!!!!! Homestead: as if...... Virtual Avenue: because i'm a jerk, i guess..... sorry for the long post, but i need a little assistance in this manner, and since it'll hopefully be the members of this community doing the most downloading, i figured this was the place to ask.....
