I don't have P5 so I am not sure if this is possible but can you smash up a car in it a little? I am not sure if clothifying it or colision detection would wok but I am looking for a junkyard car and thought ti might be possible to mess it up in Poser 5. Any ideas on if it would work? Thanks

Or if anyone knows if there is a smashed car around that would work too

Yes you can do this using the cloth room, you need to include all materials that you need to "smach" with colision detection again the wall or whatever you need.. it is not really that perfect :smash" effect but well not bad at all. How more poly so better the effect.. :) you can import your car into Zbrush and do the same there.. if this is for your still render. cath

you could add bashes and stuff with displacement mapping.

You could use transmaps for the broken windows and take off a wheel or two and use maps for rustiness etc.

Message1583647.jpg Does this look junkyard enough? I did the morphs in ZBrush and rendered it in P5. It's Dudley's T-bird and Traveler's free rust materials.

The problem with that is that all the windows are in good condition. You would expect them to be broken unless it was a car someone was keeping in their yard.

A cheaper way to make dents is to use the group tool, and then use magnets or waves to pull or push the grouped area. Or, for more precise control, try my Group-To-Morph python script.....

Displacement mapping can wreck a car, no problem. You should also use a specular map to simulate chipped paint.

Use magnets! OI! Has everyone forgotten about magnets?! You can crimp in doors, cave in hoods, bend the whole body if you like.

Thanks everyone .. I didn't think about using ZBrush for it for some reason .. I use it al the times for morphs but was thinking organic etc ..I don't have P5 so that is why I didn't try it but good to know about the displacement maps if I do get it.I think ZBrush did the trick. Thanks

I dented a mustang for a car crash forensic. I used magnets. It worked great and I got paid. Added bonus... Joe

did a crash pic last week actually using a few mags.

Thats a good picture, farside, I like the comic book sound effect.

Nice one Farside. We can also spawn a morph target from the magnets and animate a crash too. That is what I did for the forensic since it needed to be animated. Cheers, Joe
