is it posible to fade in and out an object in carrara..insted of just using the no visable key but actually fade in and out an object in the scene.. eg..star trek -beemimg captain kirk to another planet..only example i could think of epsilon-graphix epsilon :)

You could use transparency for the object and increase the "ammount' over time. Could also use a gradient in the shader to control transparency from top to bottom etc. Could even map a movie of a graduated gradient to the transparency channel to make a graduated fade effect.

You could also use the dissolve modifier on the object & have look like it's dissintegrating.

Hi epsilon, i think the best way to achieve that effect is to put a "multi channel mixer" in your shader . Put your shader in "source 1", a transparent material in "source 2", and a value in "blender" . Then, move that value slider to see the fading effect . This way, you only have to animate the slider .
