I have also got the lion walking using Walk Designer. Not wonderfully, but walking nontheless. However, to get it to work I've had to edit both the character file and the geometry file. The Walk Designer pose file won't work properly as a pose file for the unedited lion, and the Walk Designer compatible lion won't work properly with poses for the standard lion.
Now, I could simply post the 3 versions of the walk cycle for the standard Poser lion. It won't work with Walk designer, but it will work with the standard lion, and I can submit it to Freestuff right away.

I could write out instructions as to how to edit the files for the lion and include the Walk Designer pose file, which will then make it useable with Walk Designer but will take a little longer.
For those who already know how to edit the files and want to know the trick, just change all references in the .cr2 and .obj as follows: lFrontFoot to lHand, lBackFoot to lFoot, rFrontFoot to rHand and rBackFoot to rFoot. Walk Designer will now condescend to work with the lion. It's also advisable to give the altered .obj file a new name and change the pointers in the new .cr2 file to point it at the new geometry file!
