Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
I have the same complaint about M3. The upper arms and shoulder don't even line up when the arm is bent down, and the shoulder has that "rubber hose" look you describe. I suspect it would take some morphs to the mesh as well as changes to the joint fall-off zones. Basically re-rigging the character (if it's even possible with Poser because of the type of fall-off zones it has available).
i don't think this is a problem of the fall-off zones alone, since in older figures the problem was not so apparent. i noticed that shoulder and collar have quite a large "overlap" which i suppose contributes a fair piece to this problem. does anyone know what this overlap is good for? what do we have: a "bone" defined by origin and end of the body part (called shoulder here) a hull made of two groups in an object definition (collar and shoulder) some bending definition (falloff zones) that seems to fail to look halfway correct if angles >70 are applied in the one direction i've seen much better looking joints so far - it cannot be magic or witchcraft. would someone with more experience gimme a hint how to start to solve the problem? just two people unhappy with this?

hello dear community, once in a while i noticed someone complaining about the "rubber hose" look of the upper arm/shoulder area of newer DAZ characters. in many poses it is almost not visible, but as soon as the arms just "hang down" in a relaxed way, it is clearly visible. now with the growing knowledge of JCMs i'd suppose that a solution for this problem - is possible - maybe already known - possibly already builtin but broken any comments, hints or whatever comes to your mind? i'd be happy to hear/read from you! regards, sebastel
