He guys! Keep up the challenge! I almost forgot about it when I stumbled upon this stock art night city in the Extra's folder that came with Photoshop 7. The sax player is from the net (I googled on 'saxplayer', without much expectation but this was exactly what I needed), the merging of the two involved a lot of color tweaking, the city-by-night shot changed a lot too, along the way. I like glowing stuff, so I could not help myself from putting some in it.

cool job Hoof, i wasn't sure anyone was going to do anything this month (besides blacknightgraphix and karosnikov)

thanks.

if you ever get a chance, checkout the 2D forum challenge. The response rate is a pisser! Poor PunkClown has his hands full tossing the gallery page together at the end of the month!!

any ideas how to pull off "that" here?? (or will this forum remain an "answer me this" place in rendo??)

:)

I will check out the 2D challenge (one of these days... sighs). Maybe the 'problem' is, Photoshop is more seen as a tool to get things done, not as an 'art producing' app. For me it was always nice to discover the pro's (like those people making The Lord Of The Rings posters, for instance) are using the same software as I had. And then I tried to mimic that specific appearance. Maybe a Photoshop challenge should be less 'open' like the current one, but a little more tool-orited. Like challenging people to make a James Bond poster in Lord of the Rings style, or the other way around. Or make the most convincing photomontage of, say, George Bush on the body of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Here in Holland, every friday there is an online challenge for people to to something with current events, like there are on www.freakingnews.com and www.worth1000.com and there is often a very big response. Everybody should check that Photoshop stuff out, it is very high quality level a lot of time. Maybe that would help in creating a challenge that is more in line with how people perceive Photoshop. But, I must admit, I first have to check out that 2D forum/challenge to see what that is about. I do like this challenge though, do not misunderstand me, but I can understand a lot of people glance over it. (A nice banner with an elephant with a bird's head might help, or something like that...)
