PMorphTools is the quick and easy way to create full-body and group morphs for Poser cr2 files (characters, clothes, etc). PMorphTools allows you to load a cr2 directly into 3dsmax, create new morphs, edit existing morphs and save them directly to a cr2 file! No more importing and exporting .obj files to create morphs. PMorphTools also automatically handles scale conversion between Poser and 3dsmax scale. Furthermore, if you need to export obj files for distribution, PMorphTools can export each morph as a squished obj file which can be added as a morph manually in Poser (exports one obj file for each group affected by the full-body morph). PMorphTools can also export morph injection files for figures that support it (ex. Victoria 3). Additionally PMorphTools will allow you to mirror a morph for one side of a character to the other side.Features:
Load a cr2 into 3dsmax for morph editing
Quickly create morphs across groups using 3dsmaxs soft-selection (similar to magnets but with much more control)
Save new morphs as full-body morphs directly to a cr2 file.
Save new morphs as regular group morphs directly to a cr2 file.
Export morph injection files (creates all necessary files).
Export a full-body morph as a series of squished obj files for distribution
Export regular group morphs as a series of squished obj files for distribution
Selectively load and edit existing morphs.
Mirror morphs from one side of a character to the other side.
Support for non-destructive max modifiers like FFDs, Push, Stretch, Taper, etc.
Automatic handling of scale conversion between Poser and 3dsmax scale (user can define scale).
Display smooth mesh or faceted mesh for faster viewport speed
Single click to switch between morphs.
Use 3dsmaxs features to hide faces in areas that you arent working on.
Video tutorials to get you started quickly.

Note: This version only works with max4 or 5 not (6 or 3)

Tool looks interesting... I'm not a MAX user (yet), but was wondering why this product isn't compatible with the latest release (6)???

Hi,
A different compiler was used for max6, so the plug-in has to be recompiled using that compiler. At this point I think 4 and 5 are more widely used. I do plan to do a max 6 version at a later date.

Well, I was heading right over to Daz to JUMP ont his puppy - but without support for Max 6 I just can't justify it. There is no way I am goign back to Max 5 just to do this :)

I understand your sentiment about not going back a version (I think it's worth it though :) ) Maybe I underestimated the number of people using max 6. I'll put it higher on my todo list. -Mark

Dodger asks: Is it compatible with SimCloth?

Very interesting product! Will make things a lot easier and more efficient for content makers. Have you thought about porting it to other software such as Cinema 4D or Lightwave? A great addition would be to add the possibility to load poses together with the cr2, so you can see directly the effect of the morph in a certain pose. Would that be difficult to implement?

I had the chance to use this during testing. I have to say, it is a really great plugin! I run Max 5 and even during testing, I had very few bugs to report to Mark. It ran quite stable. As for ease of use, couldn't be better! I first tried with Posette, I morphed her beyond recognition and it saved her no prob. The cr2 had all the morphs saved along with the FBM already set. All in all, I strongly recomend this to anyone who makes any type of characters and uses Max for morphing. It is truly a sound bridge between Max and Poser!

When(ever) you release the vsn 6 port, would this be a free "upgrade" to existing users?
SimonWM posted Tue, 27 January 2004 at 5:52 PM
Please Mark, I hope you do the Max 6 version soon. Now I know how the Mackintosh users feel everytime a neat piece of software comes out and they are left behind.
soulhuntre posted Tue, 27 January 2004 at 6:11 PM
I have to say, a Max 6 version is pretty crucial. The upgrade is well worth it and I don't really think the conversion is hard... just re-compile it. But without a 6 version? Can't find a bit of use for it :)

_Audrey,
I didn't have any luck with simcloth (with or without the plugin).DigiCalimero, I will look into developing it for other apps. The posing issue would certainly require alot of work, but it's not impossible.
Heavy, yes it will be a free upgrade, but I haven't promised when it will get done. So only people who have and want to use max4 or 5 should consider purchasing for now.
I don't really think the conversion is hard... just re-compile it.
Maybe, maybe not. I know of other developers who had to do a significant amount of work to get their plug-ins to compile in 7.0. I can't say until I look at it.
Styxx, thanks for the comments.

Mark, what I've hear about Max 5 is that it was a very unstable release, even people that work for Discreete acknowledge this. I think you will find the work of compiling it for Max 6 will pay off.

Mark, another vote for port to C4d, I have two friends who use max and I have to say I was jelous when they picked this up the other day, it looks totally slick!

Hi. The 3dsmax 6 update for PMorphTools is ready and I will submit it to Daz on Monday. I can't say for sure how long it will take them to make it available.
